Your work on Draft:Razorpay
editHi. Thanks very much for the work you’ve done on the draft. Through no fault of yours, the draft you worked on is an old version and very flawed. I’ve done dozens of hours of work to improve it on my Sandbox. I have been speaking with some very senior Wikipedia editors to ensure everything I do complies with Wikipedia policy, and most importantly, prominently features articles that show editors the page meets notability standards. As I disclosed on the Sandbox, I have a COI as an employee of Razorpay. I think I can reconcile the two versions, using the best of your work. For the time being, I’ve removed the original draft from the AfC queue. I hope you don’t mind. I’ve been very meticulous about sourcing and am being extremely conservative in the language to avoid any WP:PROMO. I’ve spent a lot of time looking at WP:GA to learn from model articles. I am concerned some of what you’ve added, like a table with all financing rounds, is not typical of pages about companies and might be considered promotional or excessive detail. This page has been declined 5 times already and if it gets declined again, it could be blacklisted. Even after I substantially cut back on the page and added more high quality sources, an AfC editor declined it on my Sandbox. One of India’s largest private companies won’t have a Wikipedia page if there is not a lot of caution taken in the next submission. It seems safest to try to get a very well-sourced, modest page approved first. Then other editors like you can build on the page if they want and it won’t result in the page being blacklisted. Would you mind if I spend a few days reconciling the versions on my sandbox? Then I will post another note and you can leave me comments before I post this at AfC. Thank you! - Hi @Kinleysoda,
- I appreciate the extensive effort you have put into improving the draft. I want to clarify that I have no connection with the subject and have focused on adding neutral, well-sourced information, including some controversies.
- Given your COI, it's understandable to tread carefully. However, it’s crucial that the draft remains neutral and doesn’t appear promotional. The finance table existed in the AFC draft (Draft:Razorpay) since it was moved from the mainspace (I have not added those) and those tables can be removed as part of the clean-up.
- I've reviewed your Sandbox draft and noticed that some sources might not be very independent (refer to WP:CHURNALISM). For the best chances of the draft's success, I recommend incorporating the neutral information I’ve added. including the info which does not only and only promote the company.
- There is a very controversial history of the namespace, drafts and I believe it being salted by @Explicit at that time was a good step per WP:SKYBLUELOCK.
- I'm more than happy to collaborate on this draft, ensuring it's neutral and meets Wikipedia’s standards. Let’s work together to get this right. (Take your time and ping me here once you have merge the changes I did in AFC draft, be sure to include information which also address the controversies/criticism of organization, not only what you think is best).
- Thank you!
