Your draft article edit

Hello MJC6437 and welcome to Wikipedia. I hope you don't mind if we keep discussions on talk pages.

You asked

What do these notes mean? "add user draft template, remove indexing"

This was my edit summary in editing your draft User:MJC6437/sandbox. The reason for my edit is that the page is a draft article. I have added a box (the {{Userspace draft}} template) at the top of the page. This box may be helpful to you – it contains a link "For guidance on developing this draft" and a button to "submit your draft for review" when you consider it ready to become a "mainspace" article. It may also be helpful to anyone else who comes across the page, to make it clear that this page is at draft stage and is not yet part of the encyclopedia. I have also removed search engine indexing, as this is not appropriate for draft pages. Indexing is applied to articles in mainspace when they have been approved by a reviewer.

As the page stands, some of the wording appears to me too promotional to be accepted as an article. Wikipedia is not for advertising or promotion. Please make sure that your article is neutrally worded and well supported by independent reliable sources. I hope this will clarify the situation for you: Noyster (talk), 20:04, 1 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Response edit

Yes, this is very helpful. I hope I'm even responding in the correct way.

I appreciate your feedback and will review the article. I think Norwegian Wool definitely needs a Wikipedia entry but review it to make sure it's not too promotional. Thanks!

Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Norwegian Wool edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Norwegian Wool, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. DGG ( talk ) 05:18, 15 June 2017 (UTC)Reply
