In regards to Geber, you removed what we at Wikipedia call a disambiguation. There are two people known as Geber, one is Jabir ibn Hayyan and the other is a medieval European who used the same pen-name. Scholars refer to this later Geber as pseudo-Geber to distinguish him from the real Geber. The information given was not incorrect. It is important to maintain disambiguations so that, for example, someone looking for the 13th century European Geber would not accidentally use the page on Jabir for information.

If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the image qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

Translation request

Hello, I saw that you are a native speaker of Arabic, so I would like to ask you if you could take a look at 2003 invasion of Iraq and Iraq War. There is a featured article in Arabic which we would like to know how it could be used the English one which is of course dominated by people who have either been there as soldiers or have their knowledge from western media. Someone also asked if the section about "related propaganda and phrases" could be amplified with information about the Iraqi side. Arab League Logo

Hello,

Unfortunately I had to remove Image:3arabworld.jpg from the userbox template Template:User arab world unity, because use of images or logos such as this under fair use rationale is not allowed outside of encyclopedia articles, per Wikipedia's fair use policy (see point 9).

However, if you could tell me what countries you would like to represent in the userbox, I can produce a similar "free" image showing only those countries using mapping tools.

Hi, you could use Image:Map of League of Arab States countries.png, which is a copyright free image. Alternately, if you are looking for something specific just let me know what countries you want shown and perhaps what color, theme, etc. and I can try to make something for you, as I am pretty good at mapping. Greater and Lesser Tunbs

I called you uncivil because you called me chauvinist. As for UN I actually agree with you but we can not ignore international rules and say what we believe is true. This is not a personal website it is an encyclopedia. you can create a section mentioning that UAE claims the island and also the history behind it, as long as it is sourced, but you can not mention it as the only facts and ignor the rest of the world who consider the island property of Iran. UAE claims to the islands is just that, a claim.You can only mention Iran as the occupier after UN says so and UN has not done that yet. I personally have no problem with the Arabic name and you can add it if you want; I never objected to that or erased it. As for the Persian Gulf issue, it is called Persian in the whole world except a few Arab countries. The most we can do is to add Arabian gulf as an alternative name, and it is mentioned in the main article, but not as the official name since the UN sanctioned name is Persians gulf and even the page in WP is titled Persian gulf so it is completely ridiculous to call it Arabian gulf but give link to a page called Persian gulf. i will never surrender, either you guys discuss me and we try to convince each other or i will correct mustakes without and discussion, every thing here is unjust and you guys are supporting and helping one side against the other, just when i start editing or making a new article -even if it was totally forgotten and neglect before!-, moreover all of my edits which i pay effort in writing them are easily reverted, i will still correct the following: Persian Gulf Greater and Lesser Tunbs Khorramshahr Hatra Arabs and anti-Semitism MARVEL

MARVEL, you had plenty of chances to work with other editors, but you have regularly started edit wars and personal attacks on others. You were originally blocked for bad behaviour, so do not try to present yourself as the injured party. You evaded that block by creating other accounts. You continue to break Wikipedia policies and guidelines that are in place to establish an environment suitable for writing an encyclopaedia. The more yu break the rules, the more damage you are doing to the project. Your only option now is to sit out your temporary block on this account, and then to resume editing in a considerate and constructive way. If you keep creating new accounts to evade your block (a worthy punishment for disrupting the project), we shall have to keep blocking them, and we shall be increasingly less convinced of your suitability to be here at all. I have never edit-warred any one or used personal attacks (one example?), when i was blocked i recieved a message from MarkGallagher telling me that i have edit-warred!? i have not replayed because it was ridiculous accusation, i have added the Arabic name and the true owners of the island and i have never removed the Persian name just added the Arabic name while their article only contains Persian name and POV!!, the problem is that the article and many other articles should have been neutal at first place so no need for any edit, and i considered my self reverting vandalised article and he should have blocked them not me!, at least he should have blocked Spahbod who edited the same article only 17 minutes after i have edited it -and his version of the article still not changed untill now-, Wikipedia politics does not indicate allowing lies to be distributed, however i cant stand lies come to me in google from this encyclopedia every time i go search, if im going to quit this encyclopedia i want a promise that all lies are corrected any all articles set at least neutral can i get that promise? i wish all articles concerning Arabs either corrected or removed for the public intrest and for the reputation of this encyclopedia. Other thing is that i cant even discuss issues in the talk page using Nick MARVEL 167.193.194.102 12:18, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

Please see WP:V: The threshold for inclusion in Wikipedia is verifiability, not truth. If you can provide reliable sources that say the city was founded by Arabs then it can be included in the article. However, here's a source that says otherwise:

“ Although archeologists possess few texts that tells about the obscure beginnings of Hatra, it seems things started with a smallish Assyrian settlement which then grew sometime in the 3rd century BC to become a fortress and a trading center. ”

Speedy deletion of Template:Kings of Sheba and Himyar
