Marathon Petroleum

Hi M.nelson,

You undid the work of ESGfan (talk): "Undid revision 1065271875 by ESGfan (talk) Doesn't meet WP:DUE. Is this considered significant in secondary sources?"

ESG metrics are increasingly as important as company financials, and are direct data from the company. Can you expand on your reasoning for what part of WP:DUE is not met? Mirrorcoloured (talk) 23:37, 29 August 2022 (UTC)

Sure, per WP:DUE: Neutrality requires that mainspace articles and pages fairly represent all significant viewpoints that have been published by reliable sources, in proportion to the prominence of each viewpoint in the published, reliable sources. A company appearing in a list or database is not a significant or prominent publication (nor is the company's own website). If you or ESGfan think that carbon footprint data should appear on a wide range of company articles, I suggest that you start a centralized discussion to establish consensus first, at a place like WP:VPR, WP:COMPANIES, WP:ENERGY, etc. -M.nelson (talk) 20:45, 30 August 2022 (UTC)
