March 2014 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Luke 'Ming' Flanagan has been reverted.
Your edit here to Luke 'Ming' Flanagan was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (http://www.youtube.com/user/lukemingfmanagan/feed) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. a sound or video file) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy, as well as other parts of our external links guideline. If the information you linked to is indeed in violation of copyright, then such information should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file, or consider linking to the original.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 11:16, 11 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia is not a campaign website edit

I have noticed you frequently removing facts casting "Luke 'Ming' Flanagan" in a negative light from the official Wikipedia page followed by attempting to have the page protected by lying about vandalism occurring. Your username coupled with the timing of the edits coinciding with this person announcing interest in running in an election makes your actions look incredibly suspicious. It is fairly obvious that you are Mr. Flanagan attempting to make your personal page as positive as possible.

I wish to remind you that this is not an extension of your campaign. This is not your personal website, your Facebook or your blog. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia intended to record all the pertinent facts about given topics, including the facts which you may wish people would forget about.

I wish you the best of luck in the upcoming election, and I hope you can earn the integrity to leave your Wikipedia page alone for its duration.

This is your only warning; if you use Wikipedia for soapboxing, promotion or advertising again, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Final warning: stop editing the article in this biased manner, or you will be blocked. Drmies (talk) 01:28, 22 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Your failure to take this advice has led to another complaint being loved against you.   There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. Selfpublishing (talk) 08:29, 25 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Lukeming (talk)I am not Deputy Flanagan but I work in his office. I agree with you, the Penalty Points can stay, but the more relevant and true information that is up (good or bad), the better to create a proper profile for the Deputy. Let's meet at least halfway, I think his Dáil career 2011-2014 should be added in as I have done before, it is relevant information. It is neither blowing up his profile or ego, nor bashing, it is relevant information.

As I suspected. As you have a conflict of interest, please desist from editing the page again or you will be blocked. So gracious of you to allow the penalty points section to stay, oh wait, you don't get to decide! I assume Ming has his own website, that's where you should be editing not here. Hello Lukeming edit

Yes, I'm not aware that you are actually Mr. Flanagan, but I'll address you by your username unless you prefer another form of address.

First of all, I wanted to thank you for disclosing your affiliation with Mr. Flanagan. It makes it much easier for other editors at Wikipedia to understand your point of view when you make such a disclosure.

Now, because of our conflicts of interest guideline you are discouraged from editing the article directly, most especially if other editors are objecting to your changes (they don't believe that your edits are neutral and are biased toward Mr. Flanagan). However, you are most definitely welcome to make suggestions on the discussion page of the article, and I encourage you to do so. The suggestions that you made above, and your willingness to compromise, are definitely good steps to make, but I think that page is the best place to do it. I've put that article on my watchlist, so if you post there and your suggestions are completely dismissed with prejudice I will try to lend my assistance so that you are at least given a chance to be heard (though I can't guarantee that all or even any of your suggestions will be accepted). But I will try to ensure that you are treated fairly.

Two other pieces of advice... I see that you used your signature successfully in your message above, but try to put it at the end of your comments, not the beginning, as that's the convention here and will help other editors figure out which messages are from you. Also, to help you out, I strongly suggest that you read our plan and simple COI guide which is meant to help people in your position. And you can always drop me a message on my talk page if you need help. -- Atama 21:44, 25 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for disruptive editing including WP:COI/promotion, and "good hand/bad hand" sockpuppetry. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}. However, you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.  The Bushranger One ping only 04:08, 28 March 2014 (UTC)Reply
