Closure of Mazi Melesa Pilip deletion discussion
Hi Luke10.27! During the deletion discussion for Mazi Melesa Pilip, I think you may have made a mistake in the decision to close. You stated that there was only one !vote support deletion or rediction, but I see two (mine and Woko Sapien's). I am hoping you can correct that for the sake of accuracy. Also, while I agree with you that there was overwhelming support for keeping the article, it did not meet the standard required by the snowball test: "resulting decision is unanimous." - Your close was fine. As everyone agrees, there was overwhelming support for keeping the article. Tbrechner is referring to an essay. It is not one of Wikipedia's policies or guidelines. Hello, Luke10.27,
As you can see from the messages on your talk page, Wikipedia doesn't keep around empty categories unless they fall into a narrow range of exceptions (WikiProject categories, category redirects or categories being discussed at WP:CFD). Please do not create categories before you are ready to put them to use and also make sure that they fit into the existing, very complex category hierarchy on the project.
If you have questions, you can bring them to the Teahouse and there might be some experienced editors who have familiarity with category creation and category usage. Good luck. Liz Read! Talk! 07:17, 9 January 2024 (UTC)
