Unspecified source for Image:Foto_DarrenP.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Foto_DarrenP.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 18:12, 9 June 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. The Sunshine Man 18:12, 9 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for Image:000 1548.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:000 1548.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Copyrighted material in Accessible tourism edit

Please do not post copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder, as you did to Accessible tourism. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:

  • If you have permission from the author leave a message explaining the details on the article Talk page and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
  • If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or released into the public domain leave a note at Talk:Accessible tourism with a link to where we can find that note;
  • If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on the article Talk page. Alternatively, you may create a note on your web page releasing the work under the GFDL and then leave a note at Talk:Accessible tourism with a link to the details.

Otherwise, you are encouraged to rewrite this article in your own words to avoid any copyright infringement. After you do so, you should place a {{hangon}} tag on the article page and leave a note at Talk:Accessible tourism saying you have done so. An administrator will review the new content before taking action.

It is also important that all Wikipedia articles have an encyclopedic tone and follow Wikipedia article layout. For more information on Wikipedia's policies, see Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
I have removed the copyrighted text and added a fuller explanation on the article's talk page --Rrburke(talk) 13:15, 10 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

AfD nomination of Accessible tourism edit

I've nominated Accessible tourism, an article you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but in this particular case I do not feel that Accessible tourism satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion; I have explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Accessible tourism and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Accessible tourism during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. -- Ned Scott 08:43, 12 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Image copyright problem with Image:Foto-Darren.jpg edit

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Foto-Darren.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Iamunknown 03:41, 6 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hello Luisvarela. The above message I left is the "standard" message given when an image is missing copyright information. Let me, however, explain in "human terms" (as opposed to with a standard message :P) my concerns. The image is tagged with {{free screenshot}}. This tag is traditionally used for screenshots of free software, by which I specifically mean software licensed under a free license (the GNU General Public License), and I specifically do not mean software that you can simply get "for free" (such as Internet Explorer). But that "tag" (the {{free screenshot}} template) does not indicate what license the image is under.

You indicate that, "The photo in mine and we use it only for brochures for our company.", which is a good start, but re-users of Wikipedia content must know under what terms they may use the image; may they legally redistribute it? Modify it? Use it for commercial purposes (including actually selling the image for profit)? All these will ideally be indicated in the copyright license, usually by transcluding a template (or, specifically, an image copyright tag) onto the image description page.

I'm sorry if this is confusing; I'm trying to explain, but it is difficult. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me on my talk page! Cheers, Iamunknown 03:47, 6 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
