Speedy deletion nomination of Biorébus edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Biorébus requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. ➜GƒoleyFour (GSV) 02:11, 13 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

A tag has been placed on Biorébus requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

Status and Advice edit

As reviewing administrator, I recognize that the original speedy deletion request did not seem to understnad the nature of the group, but I think this is the simplest solution to avoid an unprofitable debate was to redirect it to the page on Laurent Schwartz (oncologist) . Given that some of these theories are not necessarily generally accepted now, at least in their original form, I reworded it a little to match our practice here at the English Wikipedia to clearly indicate this. It will be necessary to more clearly give 3rd party references both to their work, and also to discussions of it. (and also in the article on Schwarz). The article on Schwartz is unlikely to be challenged, because of the references to Le Figaro and La recherche, but if it is, please let me know on my talk page.. Biorebus edit

I have followed DGG's example with your new version of this article and redirected it to Laurent Schwartz (oncologist), because I share DGG's view that it does not meet our notability standard, which requires showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." If your re-creation of the article means that you disagree with this approach, let me know below here (I will watch this page) and I will restore the article and nominate it at WP:Articles for deletion, which will start the debate to which DGG referred, lasting seven days, to get the opinion of the wider Wikipedia community. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 21:33, 12 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

what I meant to say by "unprofitable" was that, first, the chances of keeping the article are approximately zero & second, that notice obtained from the debate may quite possibly be different from what you might hope for. The advice I can give you that is most in your own interests is to let the matter rest as it is. DGG ( talk ) 01:11, 13 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
