Roch Castle edit

I've had to revert your edits to Roch Castle. While your version was significantly more detailed, it cited no sources, so we have no way of verifying whether those extra details are true or not. Please refer to Help:Citing sources for information on how to provide valid citations for your changes. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 16:10, 9 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Please don't copy material you find elsewhere online edit

Hello. I am Diannaa and I am a Wikipedia administrator. Prose you find online is almost always copyright, and cannot be copied here; it's against the copyright policy of this website to do so. All prose must be written in your own words. There's more information about copyrights and how it applies to Wikipedia at Wikipedia:FAQ/Copyright. The Wikipedia copyright policy and its application are complex matters, and you should not edit any more until you have taken the time to read and understand our copyright policy. Continuing on your present course will likely lead to a block. Thank you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 22:51, 21 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for violating copyright policy by copying text or images into Wikipedia from another source without evidence of permission. Please take this opportunity to ensure that you understand our copyright policy and our policies regarding how to use non-free content.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 13:33, 2 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

it's impossible to see what the errror is. As you can see from the Penrhiw Prioy page, we are just trying to get Twr y Felin it's own page. Many of the sources are to existing Wiki pages or external sources. Instead of blocking can't you just advise sensibly which copy is not allowed? And blocking indefinetly is ridiculous when clearly we are just trying to list a building. How can we get unblocked? I can't understand the process

Decline reason:

In order to lift the block, we need to be certain that you understand how copyright works on Wikipedia. To allow the reviewing administrator to assess your understanding, please respond to the following questions in your next unblock appeal, explaining in your own words:

  • What is copyright?
  • How is Wikipedia licenced?
  • Why is copyrighted content not allowed on Wikipedia?
  • Under what circumstances can we use copyrighted content?
  • How do you intend to avoid violating the copyright policy in the future?

Your answers will enable us to establish whether or not you should be unblocked. Yamla (talk) 14:54, 6 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Note also that shared accounts are not permitted. In your response to the questions above, please clearly state that only a single person has access to this account. --Yamla (talk) 14:56, 6 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

here are the response to your questions. What is copyright? Copyright is the protection of words/music/art that has been created by someone. It gives the originator sole rights to share the work they have produced. How is Wikipedia licenced? It is co-licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported License (CC BY-SA) and the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL). Thes licences allows the content to be used freely. Why is copyrighted content not allowed on Wikipedia? Because Wikipedia would need to require permission from each originator to publish the content. The purpose of Wikipedia is to have content available that is copyright free so that others can use it. Under what circumstances can we use copyrighted content? If the content is already in the public domain or if it is compatible with the licenses. How do you intend to avoid violating the copyright policy in the future? By writing original copy only.

Decline reason:

Your answer to the question, "Under what circumstances can we use copyrighted content?", is incorrect. That is, yes, that would be acceptable but there's a significant other circumstance where we can use copyrighted material that is not released to the public domain and is not released under a license acceptable to us. You are welcome to make another request to provide a correct answer to this. Yamla (talk) 00:49, 11 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

1 Under what circumstances can we use copyrighted content? - Third allowed us is 'Fair Use' which allows use of copyrighted materials without obtaining permission as long as the use can be considered fair.

Please include a decline or accept reason.

@Diannaa: I'm considering an unblock here. As the blocking admin, what are your thoughts? --Yamla (talk) 16:14, 16 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hi Yamla. The editor has not yet answered your question about shared accounts. Once that point is cleared up, I would be in favour of an unblock.— Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 23:19, 16 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

I confirm only one person has access to this account. It is not shared.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Lucy Walter (talkcontribs) 13:10, May 20, 2019 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Twr y Felin, Tyddewi edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Twr y Felin, Tyddewi, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. --SqueePs10 TalkMy edits 05:25, 19 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
