Speedy deletion nomination of World As I Der See It! edit

A tag has been placed on World As I Der See It! requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Please do not remove speedy deletion tags from articles you created, as you did with World As I Der See It!. If you do not believe the article deserves to be deleted, then please do the following:

  1. Place {{hangon}} on the page. Please do not remove any existing speedy deletion tag(s).
  2. Make your case on the article's talk page.

Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with World As I Der See It!. Please use the {{hangon}} template on the page instead if you disagree with the deletion, and make your case on the page's talk page. Thank you. - SDPatrolBot (talk) 09:39, 28 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Articles for deletion nomination of Derek Michael Sheldon edit

I have nominated Derek Michael Sheldon, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Derek Michael Sheldon. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. ttonyb (talk) 16:47, 30 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

I noticed your deletion review and your interaction with Cirt. A couple of friendly advices: First, you should read WP:WMD. Second, there is no definite "chain of command" nor "superiors" in Wikipedia -it's just users and administrators (which are just users with more technical powers). There are organisms like the Arbitration Committee, but it's not a definite hierarchy. So, if you ask me to "talk with my boss", well, we have no boss. Third, please assume good faith of other editors when you interact with them, as a rule. Hope it helps. --Cyclopiatalk 01:12, 17 December 2009 (UTC)Reply
Also, just in case: If you happen to be Mr.Sheldon, or to be personally related to him, please also have a look to our conflict of interest policy. --Cyclopiatalk 01:14, 17 December 2009 (UTC)Reply
Right well you can assume whatever you wish. You may personally email me at tayna@worldasiderseeit.com as I am his assistant. You may also visit the staff page and see my picture. Good faith, honestly Ive tried and tried to be nice to everyone on this site to help my boss shine as he works very hard in what he does and to hear you discredit his work is a sham. I find it quite funny that out of the 70k of nominations he won such a contest and its not notable....you got to be KIDDING ME! No wonder you cant raise funds to keep this site going. What does my boss have to do become Perez Hilton number two till you think he is qualified to be on your site? I think you should seriously review your treatment...and if you cannot understand my hostility you try getting the run around from people you cant even SEE or talk to for 4 months! --Lovingmusic (talk) 03:58, 17 December 2009 (UTC)Reply
This is not a promotional site, but an encyclopedia, so we're not here to make "shine" anyone. Not being here does not mean that we discredit his work, it just means that it is, currently, unsuitable for an encyclopedia. Now, all we need to write an article about the guy is some reliable source about him. Newspaper or magazine articles are usually OK for a start. Are there some? If yes, bring them to the table. The problem is that without these sources, we have no material to use for the encyclopedia -and no, we cannot use you, because we need some objective, third-party source.
Please take note that putting your boss on Wikipedia you don't necessarily make him "shine", and that quite the opposite often happens: see WP:WANT for an essay on the subject that you should read. A relevant quote: Having a Wikipedia article may make you a celebrity of some sort, but before wanting one so badly, be ready to have your personal life exposed. If you are seen at the side of the road being issued a speeding ticket, and that gets reported, it may end up in an article about you. If your house is foreclosed and this gets reported, it may find its way onto Wikipedia. And if you get into an argument with another person in public, someone may report that in a reliable source, and it will be fair game for Wikipedia.
So is a Wikipedia article about yourself good for a resume? Probably not. On a resume, you want to tell all the best about yourself. Even if one day the article looks great, it may tell something very different the next. The nature of a wiki is such that information can change at any time. So beware, your boss, your boyfriend/girlfriend, or anyone else you are trying to impress may think one thing of you on one day, and you may lose all that respect by the next.
And no, I won't personally email you: discussion on Wikipedia is meant usually to happen in public on Wikipedia.
About "getting the run around from people you can't even see or talk", well, welcome to the Internet. --Cyclopiatalk 11:38, 17 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Cyclopia I was harsh with you and I am sorry. I owe you an apology. You have been most helpful and I can see this. Honestly the biggest press on this seems to be mashable and a few little bloggers. I guess I will wait till we get some more larger sources and get back to you. I hope you accept my apology! --Lovingmusic (talk) 03:52, 18 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

No problem, really. It is common for many to have misconceptions about how Wikipedia works. In the meantime, I suggest to move your contribution to other sites, like MyWikiBiz, which is a wiki with a scope which seems to fit your aims better (Note: I've never used it, nor I have connections with it, I just happen to know it exists!). --Cyclopiatalk 15:47, 18 December 2009 (UTC)Reply
