Hi LSL - it seems from things you've posted that you have some form of personal relationship with Eric LeCompte. I wanted to let you know that Wiki policy is pretty clear on this and you should probably stop editing his page. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Conflict_of_interest#Writing_about_yourself.2C_family.2C_friends. Thanks and happy to answer any questions if you're unclear on the policies. Citizenlandi (talk) 16:35, 28 September 2016 (UTC)"Reply

Based on the two places where you've written 'hi Eric,' your reference to knowledge of his educational background outside of what's public material and your name appearing to be a dig at the name of somebody who previously edited this page, it seems to me you have a personal relationship of some kind with the subject, or some bias. I'm going to refer it to Wiki and they can decide. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Citizenlandi (talkcontribs) 01:26, 7 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Sockpuppet investigation

edit

Hi there. In your post to my talk page, you attempted to connect real life identities to the usernames of some blocked editors. This is not allowed by the outing policy even when it's obvious, so I've gotten it off my user talk page. I do find the information very helpful, just please send it via email in the future. I can still see what you've written, and will look into it soon. Someguy1221 (talk) 06:10, 14 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Sorry about that, @Someguy1221: it was not my intent to violate the policy. Having now read it, it seems like I may be in technical violation of it merely by suggesting that the subject of the article in question (which I won't name here) is the person who is editing it. If that's the case, then the discussion of this suspicion of mine should probably be likewise deleted from the conflict of interest complaint in question. Not sure if you'd like to do that with your wizardly admin powers. Note, however, that it does seem like it'd be wrong to delete the COI thing in its entirety, as it was opened not by me but against me, and while I pretty vehemently disagree with the thrust of it, it's certainly within everyone's rights to complain about me, and I wouldn't want to look like I was trying to exercise a heckler's veto. --LoveSometimesLoses (talk) 07:04, 14 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
