edit

Bonjour Loudumo. Because you seem to understand the difference between souple and souplé (I would not commit myself on any precise distinction) please would you help out with this article on which I am currently completely frustrated. I understand there is a kind of "Bible" on Lago and his cars but I am unable to achieve access to it without paying for it to be flown half way round the world and back again and I'd have to buy it before I could do that. I don't want to buy a copy.

The book is: Alain Spitz, Talbot: des Talbot-Darracq aux Talbot Lago, Editions EPA, Paris, 1983 ISBN 978-2851201706

It would be wonderful if you might be able to access a copy and use it to write a good article about Lago and his cars. Do you think you might be able to do that. I like old Alvises too.

Thanks, Eddaido (talk) 08:31, 21 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hello,
I don't have that book, and it's difficult to buy and very expensive.--Loudumo (talk) 07:51, 22 July 2017 (UTC)Reply
I'm sorry about that as of course I feel the same way myself. You don't need to airmail it right around the world and back though. We (me and the local librarian responsible for international borrowing) could find after much searching just one library (in Germany) that might be prepared to send it so far away but with their fee it would still have ended up a couple of hundred dollars (and no book for me to keep) and I don't love WP That much. Wasn't meaning to ask you to buy a copy. I hoped there might be a library near you with a copy or able to access a copy and lend it to you. Any chance of that? Regards, Eddaido (talk) 11:18, 22 July 2017 (UTC)Reply
Hello,
Best I could find till now is http://www.priceminister.com/s/talbot+des+talbot-darracq+aux+talbot+lago#xtatc=INT-601
79€ + post. It's a second hand book site. Books may also be sold on that site, so that the round-trip cost could be close to zero (+ post!). But even so, I'm not prepared to spend that money on this today. I'll continue to look and let you know. Loudumo (talk) 18:45, 22 July 2017 (UTC)Reply
Great but it would cost twice that again to post it here and back. I am surprised its as low as 79€ when it is said to be in very good condition. I don't remember that site but we had a really good hunt round the internet and none were a cheap as that. I think it was about a year ago now. Checked and it was November last year. Do you not have a public library system that would find a copy for you and lend it to you? Regards, Eddaido (talk) 05:55, 23 July 2017 (UTC)Reply
I checked the PriceMinister site for shipping costs to United kingdom, which are 14,60€. Hard to search libraries during the National Day weekend (July 21), every official thing is closed. There is the famous "Bibliothèque Royale" in Brussels which has an on-line catalog, but apparently they do not have the book (at least in the on-line catalogue). However, they suggest a link to the "British Library", which has it and can apparently send the book to a registered reader in great-britain ! URL and further reading shows they may also send a PDF or a reprint of the book. As a non-british citizen, I'm afraid not to be able to get it this way, so things may be back up to you in some unexpected way from now on.... Let me know.
Hope you had a happy National Day. Well I thought I had a great solution when I found you! As an Antipodean and most certainly Not a British citizen (or EU) I would be much less able to borrow from the British Library than you. I believe if you wanted to take one of their sacred volumes home (no pdf - copyright) it would be best to be deputy prime minister or royalty then your luck might be in! And then it might not. It might or might not help if your intimate friends call you Jean-Claude and you call the British Library from Brussels. Get a secretary to make the first call for you. Can you manage that? Its mid-winter here and very very wet. Lets think about this for a while. Best, Eddaido (talk) 09:38, 23 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I explicitly explained that I removed all the broken links and replaced them by fresh good ones. Loudumo (talk) 07:56, 3 August 2017 (UTC) Reply
