Categorization and sorting

edit

Hello Lordyst and welcome!

Regarding this recent edit of yours, I somewhat misrepresented it in my edit summary here.

Yes, for one category you did indeed removed the sortkey. Sorting keys are used to sort pages when they are populated to their categories. See this section as it is better in explaining how they work.

Another part of your edit added Category:Azerbaijan while it is already subcategorized at Category:Azerbaijan-related lists. Clearly the page in question Category:Lists of buildings and structures in Azerbaijan is a list-related category, so it belongs in Category:Azerbaijan-related lists and should not also be placed in a higher level parent category. See WP:SUBCAT for more information.

Lastly, you removed Category:Lists of buildings and structures in Europe by country. The first sentence of Azerbaijan states it is a transcontinental country, and it's first on the List of transcontinental countries. That's why we generally categorize Azerbaijan-related pages in both Asia and Europe-related categories.

Hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day! --DB1729 (talk) 16:30, 5 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
