Hi Henry, thanks for the welcoming note! I'll try dropping into Teahouse to get some advice.
I am an experienced technical and creative writer, working on getting a feel for the rules in Wikipedia. Not unlike some technical writing (I contribute to SMPTE standards, which has similarities) but the angle is a little different.
In my last submission you noted it was too "promotional" - would removing the key example under Architecture help relieve that? I'm hoping cutting things back to "statement of fact" helps.
thanks! Lord Myric (talk) 19:16, 31 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
Hello, @Lord Myric! If you could do that, that would be great! I will say that the promotional wording is less "obvious" (if that's the right word), but it's still there, unfortunately! If you want some guidance, maybe take a look at some existing good articles about similar topics. Happy editing! HenryTemplo (talk) 21:19, 31 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

AfC notification: Draft:Interoperable Master Format has a new comment

I've left a comment on your Articles for Creation submission, which can be viewed at Draft:Interoperable Master Format. Thanks! Stuartyeates (talk) 09:31, 21 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the note! I'm looking into additional sources to cite. The way the format has developed most of the tech has been discussed in SMPTE publications. Since SMPTE is a committee-driven organization it can be difficult to find unique citations.
I have a hard time justifying as a citation a press release by a manufacturer that isn't much more than a sales notification. Lord Myric (talk) 23:27, 30 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
