--Vlad 11:59, 17 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

Game music genres

edit

I'm responding to the note you left on my "talk" page. (By the way, next time could you write a couple words so I know what this pertains to? I had to scratch my head for a minute to figure out what you were talking about.)

Regarding your game music: if you're writing music for a computer game, then that music is by definition pretty much pop music. Doesn't matter if the source material is "classical": keep in mind the example I gave in the article on classical music, "Hooked on Classics": even though the source material for these recordings was "classical" music, and even though it was played by a symphony orchestra, the result was clearly in the domain of pop music.

Does that explain things better? ILike2BeAnonymous 20:15, 1 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Re: your question about "egypt violins": (I take it you're not a native English speaker, right?) I assume you mean Egyptian music with violins in it? You're probably referring, again, to pop music: a lot of contemporary music from the Middle East has violins in it, and uses traditional elements, including quarter-tone scales. (Or you may be thinking of Egyptian classical music.) I would have said that the first place to check would be the music of Egypt article here, but I looked there and found nothing referring to this specifically.
What exactly do you want to know? You might be better off looking elsewhere, like on the Web in general, for examples or discussions of this music. ILike2BeAnonymous 20:31, 1 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Tomb Raider music

edit

What happened to the article? The talk page indicates a lot of work, but the one line on the article (with no history) will almost certainly be deleted soon. --nkayesmith 06:23, 15 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Do you plan on expanding it? --nkayesmith 08:55, 16 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
Why was it deleted and under what policy? I'm just asking all these questions to see if I should hold back from suggesting deletion for a few weeks. --nkayesmith 09:02, 16 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
I cannot help you, as I'm not familiar with the subject matter. --nkayesmith 09:25, 16 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
Don't worry about the English (grammar/spelling) side of things, I can check these. --nkayesmith 09:25, 16 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
Yes, I will help with grammar and spelling. I can't promise it won't be deleted, though, but the first step to determining this is to expand on it a little. --nkayesmith 10:02, 16 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
Actually, can I suggest that you delete the article and move everything to a section on the page Tomb Raider? --nkayesmith 10:05, 16 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
Perhaps you should draft it in the userspace (that means create it at User:Locketudor/Tomb Raider music) where you won't be disturbed - and then present it to the article when it's all done. If you are willing. --nkayesmith 10:18, 16 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
Ask an administrator for the text from the old version of Tomb Raider music. --nkayesmith 10:41, 16 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
I'll ask one. --nkayesmith 21:28, 21 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
Please contact Ncurse with your request. --nkayesmith 08:46, 22 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

I restored it where you asked me to restore it. :) User:Locketudor/Tomb Raider music. Have a good year! NCurse work 22:26, 31 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

I have my hands full with a lot of other work right now. My advice would be to look for similar articles (other video game music articles) to see how they do it. I'll try and do some editing for your page as well. Good luck.Gaff ταλκ 22:53, 20 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Are you the same person? Surely if you are editing as Locketudor, then your main user page should be there. If you are wanting to use this account, then you should probably use the {{doppleganger}} template, or request to move usernames to this one. ~~ [Jam][talk] 12:24, 2 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Ney tune

edit

Not sure I'll be able to help you with this one. Is the tune you're trying to identify Turkish? Why don't you write to Bob Sinclair to find out where he found the sample? Badagnani (talk) 22:16, 28 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
