Image policy edit

Please take the time to read WP:FU and WP:IUP. One of the reasons your edits keep getting reverted is that they use album cover images improperly. You should also read WP:RS ... the parts that aren't bad uses of images are problems because they don't have any reliable sourcing.Kww (talk) 04:18, 29 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Could you help out and restore [my good faith edit] to the article, without the improper images or mark the images as unsourced if you believe them valid? Undoing the entire edit without just cause is wasteful and imposing, and you won't see any more work from me at all, until this problem is resolved. I placed a lot of time and effort into this, and I will have to take all of my work elsewhere on the internet, if this is not resolved, and I would have to urge others to avoid Wikipedia as well. Thanks! :) Lliaa (talk) 04:43, 29 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

  • Although Aaliyah established herself as an artist of much mystery, her professional departure from R&B singer R. Kelly came after alleged rumors that the two had secretly married while Aaliyah was just 15. Can't put that in without a source. Aaliyah is dead, but R. Kelly is still alive, so it has problems with WP:BLP. We can cover this if you can cite a good source about the rumors, and that the rumors caused the separation, but it can't be put in without a source.
  • her final film Queen of the Damned was released in February of 2002, establishing Aaliyah as a talented, ambitous star whose life seemed all too short. Aaliyah has since become an icon in the music industry, many citing her style and mysterious persona as unique, while her music has pioneered the look and sound of R&B music today. That's all opinion, and not something that can be said in a WP article.
  • In 1995, a rumor surfaced that 15-year old Aaliyah and 27-year old R. Kelly had secretly married. Both camps initially denied the rumor, but VIBE magazine magazine published a copy of their marriage license, which showed that Aaliyah's age had been falsely listed as eighteen. The marriage was quickly annulled and Aaliyah would sever all ties to R. Kelly, working mainly with Timbaland and Missy Elliott on her sophomore project. Again, BLP problems.
  • With an ethereal beauty, an angelic voice and agile barefoot dance moves, Aaliyah was able to parlay her skills into roles in movies and television. Again, clearly an author's opinion, not something that can be placed into an encylopedia. WP:NPOV contains the writeup of that one.
So, no, I can't put any of it in.Kww (talk) 04:55, 29 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
  • Very well. I'll move the unabridged work on Aaliyah (including the text above) and related articles to another website, without ever mentioning Wikipedia as a source, of course, due to the erring and self-conflicting policies such as these. I now understand why this website here has proven so invalid and controversial among so many other, better pages we may find or create on Google. Lliaa (talk) 05:42, 29 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
