AfD nomination of PlayRadioPlay! edit

An editor has nominated PlayRadioPlay!, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not"). Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PlayRadioPlay! and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. Hi, Lisa. I'm off to bed and may not be back here for a day or two, so don't take my lack of reply as a lack of interest. Good luck in sorting things out, and remember that you have five days to convince people, so don't feel you have to do it all instantly. Regards, William Pietri 09:00, 20 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hey, I just spent an hour correcting many of the logical and grammatical fallacies of this article. It's nice to see someone else with such enthusiasm for PlayRadioPlay!, however seeing how this article is marked for deletion, it makes sense for this article to be in its top form. As of now, it looks like an article that REALLY should be deleted. 66.253.156.218

Deletion of PlayRadioPlay! edit

Although the page has been deleted, if you can find newspaper coverage that would substantiate any of the claims made, PlayRadioPlay! or Dan Hunter receive greater coverage in the future, please contact me and I will happily review the deletion. If you require any text from the article deletion, please also feel free to ask. A glance at Wikipedia:Notability (music) may help you determine on what level an article on PlayRadioPlay! would assert importance. Steve block Talk 11:10, 23 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

  • Regarding your comments made after the close of the afd, it's not best practise to call people old hags, and no, Wikipedia was not set up to cover "sudden cultural phenomenon". Wikipedia is a tertiary source, and so must summarise other sources. Describing a "sudden cultural phenomenon" which no-one else has commented on is original research. Regarding the dearth of bands who do not become internationally known when they are 17, I feel I should point you to Ash (band), who turned down a tour with Pearl Jam to complete their A-Levels. [1], [2]. I am sorry this deletion has caused you such upset, but please consider what sort of a resource Wikipedia is. As soon as relevant sources are found, please contact me and I will review the deletion. Steve block Talk 11:22, 23 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Restoration of PlayRadioPlay! edit

Hi, Lisa, and congrats on your persistence. Good luck with the article, and don't hesitate to drop me a line if I can be of service. Regards, William Pietri 21:38, 7 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Image source problem with Image:PRPLive1.jpg edit

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:PRPLive1.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 04:09, 17 February 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. WebHamster 04:09, 17 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

File permission problem with File:PlayRadioPlayLive1.jpg edit

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:PlayRadioPlayLive1.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MBisanz talk 02:07, 15 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Cavanaugh, Something (Pre-Sides and Varieties) edit

A tag has been placed on Cavanaugh, Something (Pre-Sides and Varieties) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a musical recording which does not indicate why its subject is important or significant, and where the artist's article has never existed, has been deleted or is eligible for deletion itself. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for music.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. File copyright problem with File:RealCleverTrick.ogg edit

Thank you for uploading File:RealCleverTrick.ogg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

File source problem with File:Cavanaugh Crop.jpg edit

Thank you for uploading File:Cavanaugh Crop.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 17:30, 6 July 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. Fair use rationale for File:Cavanaugh Crop.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Cavanaugh Crop.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ww2censor (talk) 17:30, 6 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image File:Cavanaugh Crop.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Cavanaugh Crop.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
