Looking at your other contributions, MS Carolinian & Charleston Dry Dock & Machine Company I can see that you're trying to document some interesting corners of history. However, from Wikipedia's perspective, there are some issues which need to be fixed/improved.

• The images you've uploaded to Commons, c:File:Carolinian II.jpg and c:File:Carolinian 1.jpg are marked as "Source: Own work" which, unless you're over 110 years old is unlikely in the extreme. Please credit the actual source. It's likely the images are in the public domain and should be marked as having a {{PD-US-no notice}} licence, not that you have released them as {{self|cc-by-sa-4.0}} which isn't in your gift. Wikipedia shares its material without restriction on reuse and, in order to do that, needs to be totally honest about the sourcing of its images and the originality of its text.
• You're injecting yourself into the articles, "Z.P. Liollio Collection". Why?
• "Today, the former shipyard facility is occupied by..." - when? Wikipedia is an encyclopedia. What you write today needs to be valid in 10 or 20 years time. Text like "Since 1970..." or "As of 2020..." is far more durable.
• You've watermarked a company name into c:File:Charleston Dry Dock and Machine Co, 1946 Overlay.jpg as well as your initials. The company doesn't appear to exist, https://opencorporates.com/companies?q=Z.P.+Liollio which means it's going to be impossible for the company to release the image for Wikipedia.

The combined effect is that you're putting up all the signs of having a conflict of interest whether that's the true state of affairs or not. So...

Good morning! I appreciate your feedback and vigilance. I’ve made the images public domain and added more concise dates to the section you mentioned. I’ve also removed any injections that I may have made (I think I got them all).

As for the watermark, that company does exist. The only digital copy of that image is one that I purchased and then overlayed for a project (the client is a local history nonprofit). I felt that image is the best in terms of illustrating key features, including some items mentioned in the article.

Zach, I'm sorry for the delay in replying. I tried to answer your question, but all I have is more questions for you to consider.

The original source image:

• Was it in copyright or Public Domain?

It's an aerial shot, not a casual snapshot by a holidaymaker. That makes it more likely it was commissioned and owned by a business who would be less likely to have let any copyright lapse. On the other hand it may have been the work of a state or federal official and to have been in the public domain from the outset.

• What did you buy?

Did you buy a print or a digital image. Did you just buy a copy of the image or (less likely) did you also buy the copyright of the image? The image's physical representation on a printed photo and its copyright are two separate things.

Did you buy it for yourself, your company, or for your client, in which case their permission would need to be given.

For the overlaid image:

• Who owns the copyright, you or your client? It's unusual (or very careless on their part) if they've left you with copyright to their materials. Do they need your permission to make any further use of the image, or do you need theirs?
• What level of instruction did they give you? It's possible that, in the absence of anything specifically saying otherwise, the level of direction they gave you means that they had the creative direction and hence the copyright.
• Did you add all the ZP Liollio/ZPL stuff to it? Why? It restricts what Wikipedia can (or would want to) do with it. Any watermark or other mark asserting or implying ownership will put it outside what Commons will accept.
  English Wikipedia might accept it if you have the right to donate it. You'll have to check Wikipedia:Copyright assistance and Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
• The additions you've made to the photo stretch the edges of original research which would break the second of Wikipedia's WP:Five pillars.

The mashup File:Lululaund 1900 vs British Legion Hall 2009.jpg, and the credits it gives to the original images, may be a useful guide once you've worked your way through the issues you need to resolve.

I can't access any sc.gov website. I can if I use a VPN, but I don't have one on this kit. Sorry I can't resolve that point for you.

I've had a go at categorising the images of Carolinian. For c:File:Carolinian 1.jpg, the one in the shipyard, there are about 5 other "Charleston..." categories which may apply, but I have no idea which. If you install the HotCat gadget (it's available under the Gadgets tab in your preferences both here and on Commons) and use it to add a category to the image starting Charlesto... it'll prompt you with the available categories (naval dockyard, historic, county, etc).
