Hello, Lindawriting, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Patricia Prattis Jennings, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Hello, and thank you for your guidance. I am acquainted with Patricia Prattis Jennings, although I haven't seen her since 2014. I am a retired office manager and also a freelance writer who works independently, so there's no conflict in that area, and I am not receiving any payment for this. Initially I submitted several references on Ms. Jennings to Eloisa Granado. I thought of doing this because I love the Rhapsody in Blue and after I attended a concert in Cleveland (Shostakovich's Fifth) I told my concert companion about the Rhapsody and then I wondered if Ms. Jennings had ever been entered into Wikipedia. When I tried to do the sandbox initially, I crashed it, and then Eloisa contacted me, and she told me someone (maybe you, Fred C?) was writing a piece on her but that I could apply some final edits. So the edits I applied today are, I believe unbiased descriptions of her career based on internet links I researched. I sent that list to Eloisa on 5.23.23. Three links that had not been inserted are the ones I tried to insert today. Additional information that I inserted came from Ms. Jennings - she wanted to mention her induction into Phi Kappa Phi. So I hope I've answered your question, and I am grateful that the reference for History Maker at the John Heinz Center is fixed! And I hope you won't delete all that I've inserted. I am in the process of getting approval to use her professional photograph, which was someething else I discussed with Eloisa, so that's the last thing I would want to do once I have the wording to give it credit. I'll watch for your return message and Thanks again! Linda Richter Lindawriting (talk) 03:39, 16 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
If you are writing at the direction of Granado, you have a conflict of interest. —C.Fred (talk) 13:16, 16 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
I am not writing at the direction of Eloisa Granado. But she was the person at Wikipedia who reached out to me when I "crashed" the sandbox, and I told her that I wanted to submit an entry on Ms. Jennings. Ms. Granado is a Wikipedia person, correct? She does not know Patricia Prattis Jennings or me, so I do not understand how that is a conflict of interest. I am really sorry about all of this. - Linda Lindawriting (talk) 16:36, 16 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
Hello, I do have questions. I want to read all the instructions but I'm afraid my work will be deleted. So may I ask if I understand - When I finished with edits, I should save the page as User:Example - but where on my userpage do I upload it? What about the fact that somebody else did the bulk of the work? And may I ask you, will you please proof it for me? I will be adding the photo and credit, so you may want to wait until I provide that. Thanks - Linda Lindawriting (talk) 04:40, 16 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

A cup of tea for you!

I hope you haven't been deterred from editing further, it takes awhile to learn the ropes but editors interested in underrepresented areas of knowledge are sorely needed! Happy to help if you have any questions :) Smirkybec (talk) 20:49, 20 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
