Castle Lake information edit

Dear Lillianhartner:

I am writing to you about an addition you made to the Castle Lake, California article in June 2011. You added the following material:

"Approximately 1/3 of the lake is privately owned by Crane Mills of Corning, CA, David P. Frase Estate located in Redding, CA and James W. Roberts address and location unknown. They own 640 +/- acres which sits in and east of the lake and a number of unauthorized hiking trails traverse their property."

I have a number of comments/suggestions about this addition. First, thank you for contributing to Wikipedia! I've been involved with Wikipedia and it's been a great experience. Contributions from all are welcome and appreciated! So again, thank you for this. Second, normally in Wikipedia, we try hard to list the sources of information added so that it can be verified easily. This addition lists no source references that can be easily verified. Third, when you write about "the lake" (above) it's not clear to me whether you are referring to Castle Lake, Little Castle Lake or Heart Lake, all of which are mentioned. Finally, looked at a map of Castle Lake and the environs (for example this one: Google Maps in USFS website), Castle Lake and the environs all appears to be entirely U.S. Forest Service land, and not private property.

For all these reasons, I am moving this material from the main part of the article to what is called the "Talk page". People use the Talk page as a place to discuss the article, and particular to talk about material to be added to the article. You are welcome to make comments on the Talk page about this material, and we can help out with seeing about re-adding it to the main article.

Again, welcome, thank you, and I hope that you make additional contributions to Wikipedia! NorCalHistory (talk) 18:43, 29 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
