February 2007 edit

  •   Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, the external links you added to the page Plastic surgery do not comply with our guidelines for external links. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. - Alison 20:56, 18 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
  •   Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Plastic surgery. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policy for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. - Alison 00:23, 19 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
  •   Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Life extension. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. - Alison 00:26, 19 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Alison,
Apparently you have removed links that I contributed to the 'Link Extension' and 'Plastic Surgery' entries. However you have not explained the specific reason for this. Both links are very specific to the topic and provide free access to information without advertising.
Each link has been added once again, in its original form. If you attempt a block (as you have threatened to do) without providing a specific reason for the removal, I will challenge your action to the extent suggested by the Wikipedia guidelines.

  •   You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Life extension. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please read WP:3RR. Your link was deemed non-notable, and your actions of adding it back without discussion are recognized as vandalism. Mdwyer 03:29, 19 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
  • Hi Larry. Your contributions to-date have been nothing but links to the same site/search engine. This is known as linkspamming. Please read WP:EL for more details. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, and the above pages are already saturated with links. Please also read WP:COI as I believe there is a conflict of interests in you case. By all means, if you're dissatisfied with this, feel free to ask for assistance of an administrator but I'm standing over my edits and those of the other three editors that reverted your spamming. Please also check WP:3RR first. I also note that you deleted all the other links too. Not nice.
  • I also note that 70.162.122.57 spammed the exact same site to the same pages and stopped just as your account was created and began doing the same thing. Not only that, but other links were deleted while this one was being spammed. The Plastic surgery article was repeatedly hit with this site - up to seven times[1]. Conflict of interests edit

Hi. You are Larry McElhinney of Cocoa Beach, Florida. Owner of healthhaven dot com (paid advert site) and spammer of links. Do I get a prize? :) - Alison 21:58, 19 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
