- Hello Lethalninja, the problem with the article as it stands (or as it stood before being turned into a redirect) is that it's just a rather context-free list of lengths of punishment. You didn't even cite any references; Wikipedia content should be based on what reliable secondary sources such as, say, scholarly articles in legal journals report about the subject. And you'll admit that some of those entries definitely need context to be understood, for example:
- Arizona: Not less than 1 year and not more than 3.75 years imprisonment or not more than 1 year in jail - so you can't be punished by imprisonment of less than one year, unless you are punished by imprisonment of less than one year? Is that a complicated way of saying "Imprisonment of up to 45 months", and if not, why not?
- California: 2, 3, or 5 years imprisonment - so it's either 3 or 5, but never 4?
- On a more general note, do all 50 states use the same definition of robbery? If not, what are the differences, and why? What is robbery, under the law, and why is robbing a purse containing $10 considered more of a crime than robbing a smartphone and a golden watch?
- Thus the article doesn't really give our readers a good understanding of robbery laws in the United States; it provides a list of data but no context, and no references to even confirm that data. It would need quite a bit of cleanup to become a meaningful encyclopedia article. Huon (talk) 19:37, 30 April 2017 (UTC)
