Windcatcher edit

I appreciate your attempt to come up with a themodynaically sound explanation of the Windcatcher. You are right: we need an expert to clear this up. In view of the fact that experts seem to be scarce I did some surfing, and I found an article on Conservation of Badgirs and Qanats in Yazd, Central Iranby Dr Reza Abouei. In it he offers the following explanation of the way the Windcatcher works: The badgir, literally the ‘wind-catcher’ is a high structure built above the roof of residential buildings that catch the passing fresh air and channel it down to the ground floors and basements. The weathering shaft, ventilation shaft and wind tower are other names which are also used for the badgir. In the badgir, the hot air is captured at the top of the structure and passed through a simple canal, delivering the cooler air at the bottom of the canal, where there is a small water pool in the basement. So, this actually suggests that there is a downdraft in the windcatcher rather than an updraft. Of course, downdraft is a sort against the nature of things: updraft of hot air is thermodynamically more logical, as you suggest in your contribution. Anyway, I thought it would be interesting to hear your opinion about about this alternative explanation. JdH 17:24, 12 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Environnement2100 edit

Hi, thanks for taking out that section in Export land model. I would have done it a long time ago, but I didn't want to be seen as starting an edit war with that editor (who had previously started taking everything I did personally). He hasn't edited Wikipedia in a couple of months, but I still wanted to err on the side of caution. NJGW (talk) 04:42, 13 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Synthetic fuel edit

Hi, Lesqual. There is a plan to improve the Synthetic fuel article to the GA level. In this process, there are still several issues, which should be done before renominating this article for GAN. As you have contributed to the article and/or discussion, you may be interested to participate in the discussion about the article improvement. Thank you. Should you have time do take a look through the archives as well, there are many perfectly good requests in there that never got addressed due to our lack of cartographers. Kmusser (talk) 14:11, 9 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Map of La Habana Province in Cuba edit

Dear Lesqual Please note that your map on spliting Havana Province in Cuba (into Mayabeque and Artemisa provinces) is not completely accurate since Artemisa will comprise three eastern municipalities of the neighbour Pinar del Rio. Then, the west border of Artemisa is different from the one of the Havana Province. Please refer to the spanish version of Artemisa Province article for a right map.
