Speedy deletion nomination of CardWorks Servicing edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on CardWorks Servicing requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. CardWorks Servicing edit

Sorry about that, but for me (as well as the tagger) it failed A7. Have a read of WP:CORP, and also WP:RS about the reliable independent sources needed to prove it. (A7 woks on a lower level - significance - but 'notability' is the long term protector.) The vast majority of companies don't pass A7. I remember an article about a company whose products were in the houses of millions of Americans every day. But it wasn't notable by Wikipedia standards. Why? It made own-brand products for chain stores. Not one thing left the factory under the company name. They were all branded things like BloggsCo, ShopUneed, or whoever it really was that retailed the stuff. Behind the scenes operations don't get the publicity or review that makes up notability for us. The company site, or the site belonging to the company owning the company, or any press releases (PRWire, etc) are not independent - and in quite a few cases aren't even reliable... There's no objection to you trying again at some point. I usually suggest cheating by finding the references first, and then writing around them. If you think you're getting there, create it at User:Leifericson96/DRAFT (click and save) and then ask someone like MelanieN or Ritchie333 for advice and/or help. Both admins, so they can see the deleted article too, and both are good rescuers. Good luck. Peridon (talk) 21:45, 18 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

Totally understood, thank for the detailed explanation as to why. Will revisit at a later date. -Leifericson96 (talk) 20:48, 22 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
