Speedy deletion of Image:U+2180.svg

edit

A tag has been placed on Image:U+2180.svg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image page for a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:Image:U+2180.svg|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Orphaned non-free media (Image:Professor Samuel Oak.jpg)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Professor Samuel Oak.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 01:23, 6 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Free advice

edit

Before you welcome someone, you should check and see what their contribs actually are. I just got edit conflicted by you while trying to notify someone that their new page was tagged for speedy deletion (attack page). J.delanoygabsadds 02:08, 7 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Normally, I use WP:HUGGLE for reverting vandalism and tagging pages for speedy deletion, but I welcome users without using tools. I checked his contribs before welcoming, which is why I tagged it manually. Twinkle slows down my browsing so much I usually keep it turned off. J.delanoygabsadds 02:33, 7 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hello, Legoktm.

I wanted to personally thank you for taking part in the project-wide discussions regarding my candidacy for bureaucratship. After bureaucratic discussion, the bureaucrats decided that there was sufficient significant and varied opposition to my candidacy, and thus no consensus to promote. Although personally disappointed, I both understand and respect their decision, especially in light of historical conservatism the project has had when selecting its bureaucrats. If you have any further suggestions or comments as to how you think I could help the project, please let me know. Once again, thank you for your support. -- Avi (talk) 17:31, 12 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

HowTo for commons

edit

Hi, You should use this command to upload images to commons from wikipedia:

python imagecopy.py -cat:Copy_to_Wikimedia_Commons

If you copy exactly this command, it will work. Bye, Filnik dimmi! 12:14, 15 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Sorry, I can't, I've not enough time to write other scripts, I'm still working on checkimages.py for commons since a month but I can't finish the new function because of this fu*king lack of time :'( Really sorry, try to ask to the developers of that script, Filnik dimmi! 14:50, 16 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi, the recent edit you made to The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy has been reverted, as it appears to be unconstructive. Use the sandbox for testing; if you believe the edit was constructive, ensure that you provide an informative edit summary. You may also wish to read the introduction to editing. Thanks. LegoKontribsTalkM 04:47, 18 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Please don't make frivolous reversions of other people's edits. The corrections to the article are perfectly acceptable and a full edit summary was made; I assume that this was a mistake on your part, but I would ask that you take more care in future. Thanks. Rollback on my talk

edit

I don't think it was exactly appropriate to use rollback on this comment, to be honest. It wasn't vandalism or blatantly unproductive. Daniel (talk) 02:43, 21 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

OK, no problems. Non-administrator rollback can be used through Huggle? Interesting - you learn something every day. Cheers, Daniel (talk) 02:46, 21 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

RfA question

edit

Hi Legoktm, I saw your question #5 on Izzy007's RfA [1]. It seemed to me that it was a question purely about the RfA process itself. I was wondering how a question about the process helps you to evaluate whether or not a candidate should be an administrator. I'm really just curious here. Thanks, Darkspots (talk) 23:04, 25 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
