Articles you might like to edit, from SuggestBot

We are currently running a study on the effects of adding additional information to SuggestBot's suggestions. Participation in the study is voluntary. Should you wish to not participate in the study, or have questions or concerns, you can find contact information on the SuggestBot study page.

IMPORTANT CHANGES: We have modified the selection of articles SuggestBot suggests and altered the design to incorporate more information about the articles, as described in this explanation.

Note: All columns in this table are sortable, allowing you to rearrange the table so the articles most interesting to you are shown at the top. All images have mouse-over popups with more information.

Changes to SuggestBot's suggestions

We have changed the number of suggested articles and which categories they are selected from. The number of stubs has been greatly reduced, the number of articles needing sources doubled, and two new categories added (orphans and unencyclopaedic articles). We have also modified the layout of the suggestions and added sortable columns with various types of information about each article. The first two columns are:

Views/Day
Daily average number of views an article's had over the past 14 days.
Quality
Predicted article quality on a 1- to 3-star scale. Placing your cursor over the stars should give you a pop-up describing the article's quality (Low/Medium/High), current assessment class, and predicted assessment class.

The method we use to predict article quality also allows us to assess whether an article might need specific types of work in order to improve its quality. The work needed might not correspond to cleanup tags added to the article, since our method is not based on those. We have added five columns reflecting this work assessment, where a red X indicates improvement is needed. Placing your cursor over an X should give you a pop-up with a short description of the work needed. The five columns seek to answer the following five questions:

Content
Is more content needed?
Headings
Does this article have an appropriate section structure?
Images
Is the number of illustrative images about right?
Links
Does this article link to enough other Wikipedia articles?
Sources
For its length, is there an appropriate number of citations to sources in this article?

SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. We appreciate that you have signed up to receive suggestions regularly, your contributions make Wikipedia better — thanks for helping!

If you have feedback on how to make SuggestBot better, please let us know on SuggestBot's talk page. Regards from Nettrom (talk), SuggestBot's caretaker. -- SuggestBot (talk) 11:27, 6 June 2013 (UTC)

Two items

  1. I have created an adoption page for you here. Please check in and let me know when you are ready for the five pillars test.
  2. Your comments here and here are blatant canvassing (i.e. you cherrypicked two users with whom you are friends to comment at your request for an advanced permission.) That's not allowed, and consequently your application is likely to be denied. Please graduate adoption before adding any more requests for advanced permissions. Thanks. Go Phightins! 20:44, 10 June 2013 (UTC)
  1. I have seen people do it before and get accepted.
  2. I only ment that because nerdfighter "knows" me he could answer the objection raised about my edit count.
-- Thus Spake Lee Tru. 10:14, 11 June 2013 (UTC)
The problem in your message was the word "favorable" ... if you read WP:CANVASS, you will see that is canvassing. Anyway, why don't we commence adoption? Go Phightins! 12:16, 11 June 2013 (UTC)
sorry, I dropped the request anyways. -- Thus Spake Lee Tru. 13:02, 11 June 2013 (UTC)
  • I see you withdrew your request. I would have said the same thing as Bash, not enough article space edits. Keep going though! You are doing fine and I am glad that you are enthusiastic about it. For future reference, I am happy to look at anything you point me to, but be advised that I will always make my comments or notes based on the circumstances and they may not always be "favorable" despite you asking me to do so. Now, if you want an honest opinion, you will always get that from me. Anyways... Keep plugging away at it! Technical 13 (talk) 13:04, 11 June 2013 (UTC)

Speedy deletion

I deleted User:Markgaukrodger/sandbox per his blanking, not as spam, but as a request. I tend to give noobies a lot of slack, especially if they were never "welcomed to the club". Bearian (talk) 17:10, 12 June 2013 (UTC)

Thank you for making a report about MBJJ01 (talk · contribs · block log) on Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism. Reporting and removing vandalism is vital to the functioning of Wikipedia and all users are encouraged to revert, warn, and report vandalism. However, it appears that the editor you reported may not have engaged in vandalism, or the user was not sufficiently or appropriately warned. Please note there is a difference between vandalism and unhelpful or misguided edits made in good faith. If the user continues to vandalise after a recent final warning, please re-report it. Thank you. Toddst1 (talk) 19:28, 13 June 2013 (UTC)

Really

You left a tag at the top of Talk:Slave rebellion saying the Guild of Copy Editors recently edited this page. Really? The article was left with the following text and formatting:

"=Brazil
"In Brazil occurred the Bahia Rebellion of 1835 (The Great Revolt),[1] theBahia Rebellion of 1822-1830,[1] and theMali Revolt of 1835.[1]"

You might like to go back and fix that. Moriori (talk) 21:55, 17 June 2013 (UTC)
