Speedy deletion of Roosevelt Community Library edit

A tag has been placed on Roosevelt Community Library, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia per CSD a7.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Amman edit

Hi, Ldud!

This is the first time I'm creating a post in Wikipedia and I'm not sure where to post it but I hope it appears fine. I found these few articles of yours on Amman that fascinated me! I've been to Jordan a few times. I love Jordan, I love Amman and right now I'm searching for options to go to work there so I was so happy to find those pictures from around Amman that were taken a few days ago only! Thank you! I'll be looking forward to seeing more new pictures and articles.

Your Articles edit

Hello there, I'm Eyas, a fellow Jordanian wikipedian. Though I haven't been active recently, I'm quite interested in the improvement of Jordan-related articles and topics on Wikipedia; I've previously created a lot of articles on Jordanian politics as well as help in evolving the Jordan page into what it is now. I've seen your contributions to wikipedia, such as Abdoun Bridge, Jordan Gate Towers, Abdoun Circle, etc. and I'd like you thank you a lot for your efforts. There's one problem I noticed, however, and I hope you'll be willing to enhance the articles in that way, and this is, the articles are not linked to. Try to edit other pages such as Jordan, Tourism in Jordan, Culture of Jordan, Economy of Jordan, etc. as to include links to these articles. Also try to make these articles link to each other more, by adding "See Also" sections, etc. That improves the flow of reading and browsing in Wikipedia and makes these Jordan-related articles, and others, more discoverable. Thanks :) Eshcorp (talk) 18:57, 27 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Little context in Talk:Hub Bicycle Co-op edit

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Talk:Hub Bicycle Co-op, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Talk:Hub Bicycle Co-op is very short providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Talk:Hub Bicycle Co-op, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Development of WikiProject Jordan edit

Greetings, I noticed you have been active with Jordan-related articles, recently with Jabal Amman. You should think about jumpstarting Wikipedia:WikiProject Jordan. It needs a crap-load of work and Jordan-related articles need more organization and categorization as well as general development. I'll try to recruit more editors to the project and will join myself. --Al Ameer son (talk) 05:57, 19 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi! The purpose of WikiProjects is to management specific topic or family of topics within Wikipedia, in this case Jordan; It also serves as a place where users like yourself who edit Jordan-related articles to collaborate and discuss with other Jordan-related editors on how to find solutions to certain problems with those articles, create new articles and expand existing articles. It is not a place to write encyclopedia articles directly, but a great resource to help coordinate and organize article writing and editing. You could take a look at Wikipedia:WikiProject Palestine to get the general glimpse. Also make sure to see the talk page, the noticeboard and the portal. If you need anything just ask.

P.S. I am also an American, but I can't write or read Arabic well. ;-( --Al Ameer son (talk) 17:23, 19 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

JRF Plaques edit

In your Jordan River Foundation article, you mostly use plaques as sources. Can you take pics of these and put them up on Flickr or Wiki and link to them so the sources are verifiable? Otherwise, who knows whether or not you're telling the truth...(also, it won't get on DYK without the sources' verifiability...) Or, you could link to a reliable website that has at lewast some of the info, especially the hook info. Do something...soon. BobAmnertiopsisChitChat Me! 07:05, 26 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hey, Leo.
I hate to have to tell you this, but the Azraq Reserve article isn't actually eligible for DYK. Why? You'll need to get it up to about 15,000 in the next few days if you want it to be featured. I can try to help. BobAmnertiopsisChatMe! 03:31, 20 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image File:Teen Creeps 7".jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Teen Creeps 7".jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk) 07:57, 12 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for File:Tokyo-Police-Club-champ.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Tokyo-Police-Club-champ.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 23:25, 24 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

leaksallday.com edit

Hi, I saw that you re-inserted a sentence with a 'ref' to leaksallday here. It was established on our reliable source noticeboard that that site is not a reliable source, and (seperately) that several editors have engaged in reference spamming. That was why the info was removed: if the site is unreliable (and by nature unstable, so the reference 'expires', but that is a separate note), then that sentence does not have any reliability and should be removed. I hope this explains. --Dirk Beetstra T C 15:24, 4 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Caroline Smith and the Goodnight Sleeps edit

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

A tag has been placed on Caroline Smith and the Goodnight Sleeps requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject of the article is important or significant: that is, why an article about it should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you can assert the notability of the subject, contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} at the top of the article, immediately below the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate), and give your reasons on the article's talk page, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. You may freely add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

See the guidelines for specific types of articles: biographies, websites, bands, or companies. De728631 (talk) 23:36, 12 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Asian 10,000 Challenge invite edit

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant!
