Article feedback

Hi Laurabai. Nice start on your draft. I added a bare-bones version of the {{Infobox U.S. legislation}} template - you can fill out more of the fields if you follow that link and the step-by-step directions there.

With respect to layout, Wikipedia articles don't have introductions, they have lead sections. Articles about laws tend to have a fairly specific layout too - you should check out the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act for an example of a good article about a law.

Some other things - you need to add links to other Wikipedia articles. Topics and terms that are likely to be unfamiliar to the average reader should be linked the first time they appear in the article. And your references need to be placed before the punctuation, not after.

Be careful that your statements are actually supported by your sources. For example, you say "The loopholes in the US Microbead-Free Waters Act have become apparent to many other countries, especially in the United Kingdom, and it is encouraging them to enact strict bans that will avoid all loopholes", but your supporting citation has a publication date of 2014. Either the publication date is wrong, or the article doesn't actually discuss post-2015 happenings. Ian (Wiki Ed) (talk) 17:13, 26 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

A few other things

  • Make sure you specify what country you're talking about. Wikipedia is international, both in its scope and in its readership. Don't assume that people know what country you're talking about.
  • Section headers should not be capitalized (beyond the first word) and they should not begin with "The"
  • References should appear immediately after the statements they support. There should be a minimum of one reference per paragraph, and there shouldn’t be any text after the last reference in a paragraph. Several paragraphs include statements that can't be tied to a source, and others lack any sources. Ian (Wiki Ed) (talk) 17:19, 26 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
