Since you are editing this page, I've placed a Tag on it to let others know so they won't delete it. Just a question though, are you a member of this band or are you editing on behalf of them? Phearson (talk) 01:27, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
- An under construction tag is a useful way of letting people know that the article is actively being improved, but when most of the content is a copyright violation, that tag isn't sufficient to prevent deletion. Feel free to start again, but please don't copy in material from other sources. (Some people are surprised to find that this applies even if they wrote the material in the other location. There are ways to arrange for the use of such material if you hold the copyright, see Donating copyrighted materials)--SPhilbrickT 17:37, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Drive A
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Drive A requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.
If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. ttonyb (talk) 15:50, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
Drive A
editI saw the under construction tag, but the article contained a substantial amount of material copied from a facebook page. That is not permitted.--SPhilbrickT 17:37, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
- Agreed, also based on what this user left on my talk page, it doesn't sound like this band isnt notable at all. Phearson (talk) 21:13, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
Well this sucks, the only reason I had it copied up was for a rough draft until one of the band members had some time to go over it and tell me if he liked it or not, and if he wanted me and a few friends working on it still, or if he'd like to have it done by professionals... But I did break the rules it seems so I have nothing really to complain about. At least you guys didn't troll me over it. Also, while Drive A isn't notable right now, they are gathering quite a large fan base through their tours, I'm usually all for hard heavy metal, but even though their genre is lighter then what I usually like, I became a fan. I've seen them twice live and they always throw on a great show. Guess I'll just start from scratch again once the band members get back to me on what they'd like to do.
- err, that not might be a good idea to recreate the article now. Wait until the band has notabilty and some reliable sources. Phearson (talk) 21:34, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
