Hi, I'm not sure what's going on but maybe it's better to prepare the article in a page like this and only post it when it's ready. If you want you can request deletion as author and re add everything when you worked out the formatting and other things. Hobartimus (talk) 22:00, 23 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

The page is at User:Lashford/ just click on it and edit it like a normal article but it won't show up in google searches and other places until you decide it's ready and post it into main space again. Hobartimus (talk) 04:15, 24 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
You can ask someone to move it or you open the edit tab and copy paste (select the text and press Ctrl+c and then paste it with Ctrl+v) the whole text into the article. at Sophia Bekele. Hobartimus (talk) 04:27, 24 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
Image upload is in the left side of your screen in the bottom menu as "Upload file". Hobartimus (talk) 04:30, 24 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
I went ahead and deleted the version that was in mainspace. When your User:Lashford/ version is ready, you can click on the "Move" tab at the top of the page to move it back into mainspace. If you have any questions, let us know. And welcome!  :) --Elonka 08:40, 24 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
It seems google is complex than I thought it also takes a time to clear out the cache even the old deleted page shows up there, just try to finish the article fast, it starts to look pretty good already. Hobartimus (talk) 00:52, 28 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
I am not aware of any straightforward way to keep a Wikipedia page (even a userpage) off of Google. Then again, this isn't something that I've ever looked into. My advice if you want to keep it confidential, is to work on the page off-wiki, such as in your own text editor, and then you can just "test" it on your userpage, by previewing instead of saving. Or if you do save, then immediately blank the page and save again, so you're only working on a "History" version of the article.
I might be completely wrong though. You may wish to ask this question at Wikipedia:Help desk, as there are knowledgeable editors there who may know something I don't. You'll usually get an answer there very quickly, in either minutes or hours. --Elonka 07:20, 28 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Please do not edit war

edit

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Sophia Bekele. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. --Elonka 16:02, 30 April 2008 (UTC) Please also review the following pages: Single purpose account, Conflict of interest and Autobiographical editing. Thanks, Elonka 16:05, 30 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Dear Elonka-
I hope there is no editing war. It keep taking the following edit comments out becuase I have sent my clarification already for considerations and most of the corrections have been made already by you or your editors. How long do u plan to keep it in a DRAFT form anyway? Otherwise, we need to moe it back to the userpage until all editing is complete, so it does not show up in the search enginees. can we do that? Thanks

It appears you continually revert edits on the dotconnectafrica page to serve an agenda, not the facts. The application was clearly made for .dotafrica as per the ICANN reveal. Please do not revert the wiki page to reflect .africa — Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.78.30.172 (talk) 14:31, 5 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hi

edit

The latest problem in google was actually "your doing" :) You posted to my talk page about the article that shall not be named and google picked up that special name and put it in the search. I guess this is the price to pay for having these pages indexed. I blanked it now should clear out in a few days. Hobartimus (talk) 12:17, 6 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi Hobartimus! I know I know...u r right and thank you for fixing it...u r not a 'conflict junkie' after all:)). I feel like I am a Harry Potter character in all these...is like having a dream!! I look forward to any thing hitten me at any time, but have to keep going ...if I have to see the daylight!!! cause if I look back...i may never come back.... Mercy , Mercy!! Lashford (talk) 21:12, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

Dear Hobatrimus: Thanks for removing the above. I see it is no longer there. However, the article below also shows up when you google the and when I went to the URL below, I learned this is an old article and should be removed. The date of birth and marital status has caused a lot of spam on sophia's email box, she said all of a sudden.... can you take care of it as well. Many thanks.

It's the google cache there is not much you can do about it, it will be gone in a week I think but I'm not sure. But if you continue to write the NAME here above soon this talk page (your talk page) will show up in google as well. Just when it was written on my talk page. Hobartimus (talk) 15:22, 7 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

I have the deleted the name so it does not apear in google;-) tx. Lashford (talk) 14:25, 10 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder, as you did to Sophia Bekele. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. I have removed all images with questionable licensing from the article. Please do not add any of them back unless a full licensing rationale is included, which clearly acknowledges the creators and/or copyright holders. There is also a thread on this at Talk:Sophia Bekele#Images, and I strongly encourage you to participate there. --Elonka 18:03, 23 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Your recent edits

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button   located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 05:49, 25 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of DotConnectAfrica

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on DotConnectAfrica, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Minor edits

edit

Looking back through the history of DotConnectAfrica I see that you mark most of your edits as minor even though they're obviously not. Maybe you could read WP:MINOR and then stop doing this, as it makes it more difficult to keep track of how the article is changing.— alf laylah wa laylah (talk) 14:03, 21 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
