Wikipedia needs you to be more free in your grant of license. Are you willing to use a creative commons license like CC-BY-SA-3.0? Wikipedia is supposed to be free, as in every one can copy it, and change it. In the case of a picture to illustrate your article, we would want it to be as authentic as possible. If you are willing to release under a free license you should be able to upload yourself at commons:upload and save the effort of proving who you are!
