Please see the comment I made here with regards to the above dispute. Parsecboy (talk) 00:23, 11 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
It's clear enough that the actual decommissioning ceremony was on October 1. But the Navy's official records say it was decommissioned on September 30. Was that for fiscal year purposes? I think that's very likely. But the Navy's records say what they say. However, I think I've found a wording that will encompass both dates. Orpy15 (talk) 04:32, 12 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
If you can clear up the reason for the date discrepancy, then you're a smarter man than I. By the way, love your website, I've gone through it many, many times. Orpy15 (talk) 21:27, 12 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the compliment....you are looking at 3 years of devoted work. The only truly credible records that I have been able to obtain regarding the date, you have seen. In truth, the colors were raised on the morning of 1 Oct. which means that she was a commissioned ship at that time. I just spoke on the telephone with Captain Rollins (the last Captain)and if you want to hear what he had to say about it please email me. Larryb442 (talk) 23:06, 12 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
