77/77th Brigade edit

I already created a page called Security Assistance Group with all the proper references. Creating a new 77th Brigade page is confusing. Merge into my page please.Phd8511 (talk) 16:22, 31 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Ordinal numbering edit

I noticed that you are moving pages and editing them to remove the ordinal numbering, using the reasoning "correct name". Please elaborate and point me to your source for this. Thanks. Keri (talk) 08:53, 13 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Move edit

Can't be bothered to reply? Also, your copy/paste removed the article history. Keri (talk) 21:54, 17 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

July 2015 edit

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give 40th Regiment Royal Artillery a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Moving pages edit

Hi - Thanks for your recent edits on regiments. Please note that the procedure for requesting the move of an article is set out at WP:RM. In particular please avoid "cut & paste" as the article history gets lost. Thanks. Dormskirk (talk) 10:29, 18 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Talk:Regimental Police edit

Please see Talk:Regimental Police and stop just reverting. The common name is Regimental Police, which also appears to be the official name in other countries. The official British name already appears within the article. -- Necrothesp (talk) 12:21, 29 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

August 2015 edit

Please do not add or change content, as you did at Special Air Service, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. McGeddon (talk) 13:14, 4 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Officers' Training Corps edit

It's well over twenty years since I served in the OTC and I don't know what the set-up is like now, but deleting information just because it isn't current is not particularly helpful. If the situation with different corps sections and NRPS has changed then by all means record the new system, but please retain the old information as historical information. Wikipedia does not just record the present, but also the past. -- Necrothesp (talk) 15:26, 19 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of List of Territorial Army units (2012) edit

The article List of Territorial Army units (2012) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Why do we need a list of units from the Territorial Army as of 2012? The TA was renamed as the Army Reserve around 2011. This list fails WP:NNC or WP:GNG. Show why this is article is needed. If not I really feel it need as WP:PROD. [[User:BlueD954

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
