Proposed deletion of PJ Watts Crips

edit

The article PJ Watts Crips has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unsourced, contains original research, non-encyclopedic in tone, multiple improper links & links placed incorrectly in text of article. Needs major cleanup and reliable sources.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.   Hello Lamont Fleskani13, and welcome to Wikipedia. All or some of your addition(s) to Oak Park Bloods has had to be removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material without permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. However, there are steps that must be taken to verify that license before you do. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are public domain or compatibly licensed), it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at the help desk before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 19:12, 10 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

There is copyright in Syria, which lasts for 10 years after publication. This is in no way considered being exempt from copyright in the country. So please don't upload logos of Syrian groups as public domain, but fair use unless they're very geometrically simple. Editor abcdef (talk) 05:43, 13 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Non-free image use

edit

Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia. We always appreciate when users upload new images. However, it appears that one or more of the images you have recently uploaded or added to a page, specifically Jabhat al-Akrad, may fail our non-free image policy. Most often, this involves editors uploading or using a copyrighted image of a living person. For other possible reasons, please read up on our Non-free image criteria. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 05:10, 2 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hi Lamont Fleskani13. Please make sure to check the licensing of any file before adding to an article. freely licensed images, like the ones you might find on Wikimedia Commons, can pretty much be used in any article without restriction since Commons only accepts freely licensed content or public domain content. There's no 100% guarantee that the image is not a copyright violation even when it comes to Commons, but most of the time the file should be OK.
Not every image you see on Wikipedia, however, is freely licensed. Wikipedia does allow certain types of copyright-protected to be uploaded as non-free content. The way such content can be uses is highly restricted and each usage of a non-free logo must satisfy all 10 of the non-free content criteria listed at WP:NFCCP. Basically, non-free usage is required, among other things, to be highly contextual and not simply to show the file. That is why a file such as File:Euphrates Volcano logo.jpg is considered acceptable for Euphrates Volcano, but not acceptable to be used in infoboxes of articles like Northern Sun Battalion. The usage of non-free files can be tricky and even experienced editors occasionally make mistakes. Mistakes can be fixed, but please try to be careful from here on. Please note that while occasional mistakes are not too big a deal, a pattern of behavior that indicates a disregard for Wikipedia's non-free content policy is eventually going to be seen as disruptive and might possibly lead to an administrator being asked to get involved. All you have to do is check each file's page before adding it to an article. If it's freely licensed, then you should be fine. If it's non-free, you probably should not add it to the article without asking first at WT:NFCC or WP:MCQ. -- Marchjuly (talk) 05:28, 2 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Your recent edits

Your recent edits on the Syrian Civil War map, which involved changing the control status of hundreds of towns, are very troubling. Why did you make this massive change without supplying any source? This contradicts your statement on your userpage that you are committed to providing sources for edits. Why did you do this? Pbfreespace3 (talk) 14:21, 14 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Sorry for that i will provide sources next time i was just showing the Rojava Federal State

Once again, you have made several edits without a source. Is there a source you are using? If there is, you should list your source in the edit summary. However, if you continue to edit without sources after being told not to, you will be reported for disruptive behavior (vandalism). I hope it does not come to this, and that you can source your edits and work to improve Wikipedia. Best wishes, Pbfreespace3 (talk) 04:15, 19 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

I'm getting it from official Islamic State sources and i cannot unfortunattly give you this source because i'm afraid that the site will get banned or they will close it but the source is legit because in the source it shows Islamic State forces captures Al-Dandaniyah, Aqra Mountains, Qur'ah Saghirah, Umm Al-Saraj Mountain, Al-Hawshariyah and Umm Adasat Al-Farat and 35 SDF fighters killed and 45 wounded

Speedy deletion nomination of Southside Watts Varrio Grape 13

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Southside Watts Varrio Grape 13 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://unitedgangs.com/2013/10/15/watts-varrio-grape/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. 2601:188:1:AEA0:30F8:873F:7608:6364 (talk) 03:11, 20 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of PJ Watts Crips

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on PJ Watts Crips requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://unitedgangs.com/2010/04/05/pj-watts-crips/.

2601:188:1:AEA0:30F8:873F:7608:6364 (talk) 03:22, 20 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

Given that you've received warnings about unacceptable edits of this sort going back at least six months, and have recently created four articles that all appear to be blatant copyright violations, it's reasonable to say that the next time you create an inappropriate article or add copyright violation or unsourced content, I'll ask that this account be blocked. Thanks, 2601:188:1:AEA0:30F8:873F:7608:6364 (talk) 03:25, 20 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

Lamont Fleskani13, please read the message above. It seems like you think that the problem is only the copyrighted images - well, yes, it is a problem that you have uploaded copyrighted images and claimed that they are your own work, or with misleading licensing information ("official item legally exempt from copyright in its country of origin"[1]?) - but copyright does not only apply to images, but also to text. This has been pointed out to you before on this page. You cannot copy text from other sources, online or offline, or do a minimal rewrite where you change only a few words or move the sentences around a little. That is a copyright violation, still. And in addition, despite many requests to add sources, you are still creating unsourced articles. Please stop before you are blocked over this. Thank you. --bonadea contributions talk 16:07, 20 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

Nice work

edit

Hey man, I appreciate your adding of information to the page. Ignore the deletionists who think information should only be spread by major companies ("reliable sources") and not the people. The people are the knowledge. My only suggestion is to add more sources for your work. Also improve your diction and consistency for when describing things. Other than that big ups my man. This list is huge and has lots of funny shit from Russia. lol [qub/x q;o++a] ++ 10:55, 1 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hey man you're welcome i will add more sources to my work from now on thanks for the advice
