Welcome! edit

Hello, Stamford american, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Stamford American International School, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! Promo edit

Please stop making promotional edits, I have reported you to the admins for this and they will likely block you. You are also edit warring. Tornado chaser (talk) 01:25, 9 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group or a web site, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In that reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Alexf(talk) 01:49, 9 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

Requested username:

Request reason:

I'd like to add facts as content without adding promotional content. Current content is incorrect (f.e. the swimming pools). The reason I'm blocked is not because of wrong intentions, but because I was not aware of Wikipedia's COI

Accept reason:

I have reviewed the request, consulted with the blocking admin and will be unblocking presently. That being said tread very lightly. Simple, factual changes which are verified by reliable sources are probably OK, but anything that looks like promoting the company will lead us right back here again. May I recommend that you first propose any changes at Talk:Stamford American International School and give people a day or so to comment before you enact them, to get some feedback before making actual changes to the article. That will likely go better for you. Jayron32 21:11, 15 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
