Articles for deletion nomination of 9,000 miles (song)

edit

I have nominated 9,000 miles (song), an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/9,000 miles (song). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. CTJF83 chat 20:23, 28 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles, or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion debates, as you did with 9,000 miles (song). Otherwise, it may be difficult to create consensus. If you oppose the deletion of an article, please comment at the respective page instead. Thank you. CTJF83 chat 21:15, 1 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Read mail

edit

Please refrain from introducing inappropriate pages, such as Read mail, to Wikipedia. Doing so is not in accordance with our policies. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Welcome

edit

I've noticed some of your recent edits, and I wanted to provide a little helpful advice. Some of your car-related page creations look to be notable interesting subjects. Those kinds of additions are welcome and encouraged.

In those cases other people have been trying to help you as well. If you look at the edit histories on those pages you'll see other editors helping update the page. Some of these updates include tags to help bring others there. It's one of the ways that other people are able to find articles that need to be updated. So when you remove them, it's counter productive.

In the same way, when you create a page, and someone nominates it for deletion, removing the tag that's put on that page doesn't change the discussion about the deletion: if you want to make an argument about that, then follow the link and make the argument, but please don't remove those tags over and over. It is seen as disruptive, and makes people uninclined to help you improve the articles you've created.

Finally, don't create test pages in the mainspace like Read mail. It is for articles, not for personal pages.

I'd encourage you to look at some of the links above. I think if you get a better feeling of how people work together on articles, you'll have a great time. But people don't like it when you continually remove their work or tags, or don't communicate about what you're doing. I hope you find this advice helpful. Proposed deletion of Hypercar Royalty

edit

The article Hypercar Royalty has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

A term used in a single episode of a show does not deserve its own article.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. swaq 20:01, 4 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

  • Hi. I have declined the speedy deletion nomination on this article, as it is clearly not a hoax; but I hope you plan to expand it. There are images at commons:Category:Benz_Victoria you could use. The Welcome paragraph at the top of this page is a rather overwhelomg one: I recommend WP:Your first article as a good introduction to article writing. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 20:10, 5 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
  • Some more advice, after reading the other warnings above: there are two important Wikipedia policies you should read and understand:
  • Verifiability, which includes: "The threshold for inclusion in Wikipedia is verifiability, not truth—that is, whether readers are able to check that material added to Wikipedia has already been published by a reliable source, not whether we think it is true."
  • Notability, a requirement to have a Wikipedia article, which is not a matter of opinion but needs to be demonstrated by showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject."
Because we get so many hoax and nonsense articles - new article are created at a rate of more than one a minute - very short articles which do not cite any references and do not show why their subject is notable are very likely to be speedy-deleted. It is best to wait to input a new article until you have assembled enough material to make it clear to the (hard-pressed, volunteer) New Page Patrol that it is likely to become a serious article. I advise you again to read WP:Your first article carefully. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 20:29, 5 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Barabus tkr

edit

The article Barabus tkr has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Having looked through various sources and auto sites, it is clear that this car was never made and does not exist. All it is is a car company announcing that they would make a supercar that produced x horsepower and y top speed. All the available sources are simply discussion of the announcement. Given that nothing has materialised the current one-sentence stub is no longer even true. It can safely be deleted.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Speedy deletion nomination of Khoras

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Khoras requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you.  Chzz  ►  14:19, 12 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Da Monkey Punk

edit

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

A tag has been placed on Da Monkey Punk requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject of the article is important or significant: that is, why an article about it should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you can assert the notability of the subject,  . Clicking that button will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the article's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. You may freely add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

See the guidelines for specific types of articles: biographies, websites, bands, or companies. CanadianLinuxUser (talk) 18:43, 5 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
