NEGUMBO SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL

NEGUMBO SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL is a state high school in Onaanda, Omusati Region, Namibia. It is situated 50km west of Oshakati town. It came into existence in 1999 and was officially inaugurated by the founding president of the Republic of Namibia Dr. Sam Nujoma[1] on 03 June 1999. Mr Iyambo Alugongo is the current principal of the school.


HISTORY

The school is named after the late King of Uukwambi Mr. Negumbo lyaKandenge who lived and bravely killed a lion at the location of the school which was built after independence.


ACADEMIC EXCELLENCY

The school is one of the best performing schools in Omusati Region and the country at large producing competitive top achievers every year. It have a great record of scoring 100% pass in Grade 10 national examinations for 10 consecutive years winning awards in most of the high and ordinary levels subjects. the school send out many learners yearly to all tertiary institutions in the country as well as abroad.

The school is well equipped with a colossal Computer, Physical Science and Biology laboratory as well as a variety of features to cater for most, if not all learners' wants and needs. The school is not just known for its educational achievements in the country, but also because it has a strong soccer team which always win trophies at school soccer tournaments in the country.
