Speedy deletion nomination of Glenwood Park

A tag has been placed on Glenwood Park requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Explaining the deletion, given the permission?

I see a claim on the Glenwood Park talk page that permission has been given for the material to be used. However, we have to be a bit more formal, as anyone could write that. Clarifying how permission can be granted

I just left a message here with one of our top experts on copyright. She is usually quite prompt in responding, so I hope to get an answer soon. If she is not around, I will check with another expert.--SPhilbrickT 16:19, 27 January 2011 (UTC)

As I guessed, I got a prompt answer. One of our experts confirmed that the existing wording doesn't quite work. The good news is that she suggests the following wording:

The text of this page is available for modification and reuse under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-Sharealike 3.0 Unported License and the GNU Free Documentation License (unversioned, with no invariant sections, front-cover texts, or back-cover texts).

Note that this will address only the copyright issue (and some of our editors are zealous about addressing possible copyright violations, and might miss the wording. If a new article receives a deletion notice because they simply see the similar wording, let m know and I'll intervene.) What is does not address is the concern that the article, as written, appears to be "blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group or service...". That issue also needs to be addressed, and is often a difficult issue to address by someone close to the subject.--SPhilbrickT 17:28, 27 January 2011 (UTC)

Speedy deletion

The page Glenwood Park, Atlanta has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appeared to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group or service and which is unlikely to be suitable for an article (or at best would need a fundamental rewrite). Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item G11, as well as the guidelines on spam. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this.
