Japanese verb conjugation

Hi Kuronbo! Thanks for advancing the Japanese verb conjugation article! In one of your edits, you added some examples from the 大辞泉, thank you!

However, the other examples already in the article were created for the article, whilst your examples are borrowed. Would you mind adding a citation for the example? I don't have the book, but if your citation could also include a page number, that would be fantastic. This article will benefit from the support of a broader range of references, so your help will be appreciated!

Oh! One more thing! You checked the box "This is a minor edit" on all of your edits; however, adding information (i.e. examples) to the page is considered a major edit. Minor edits are only for fixing typos or formatting changes which don't alter the meaning of the article in any way. If in doubt, it's better to leave it unchecked.

Thanks for replying on my talk page. Yes, I'd be happy to help to cite the reference. I assume your digital copy of 大辞泉 is an application? That does seem difficult to reference, but I found a way; I need some more information though. Firstly, if your digital version is like an e-book/pdf/epub thing, the citation is much easier, we just have to treat it as though it were the printed copy.

If it's an app, we need to include a link to the "store" it came from, the version number of the app, and the date of publication of the version you used. So, is it Android or iOS or something else? Is it the latest version (not necessary to be the latest version, but convenient if the sourced example remained unchanged in the latest version)?

Sorry, one more question! Does the 大辞泉 provide the English translation, or just the raw Japanese example sentence? (I want to know if I can freely alter the translation or not.)

Hello again, JKVeganAbroad!

No, I use the デジタル大辞泉 embedded in the Yomichan chrome extension. I'm not sure what is its version. I believe this is the same Daijisen used in goo.ne. Daijisen is a monolingual Japanese dictionary, so there are no English translations provided for example sentences. If you want to improve my translation, feel free to do so!

I found a live website that uses the digital database directly (which isn't necessary but…), now we can reference the database with a link to a live-entry. So, as promised, here's the code for the citation:

Hey again! Since it's the same database, it's not necessary to add another website.

Actually I found that other website too, but I noticed that the Kotobank デジタル大辞泉 was using a database from 2020年8, whilst the goo辞書　デジタル大辞泉 was using a database from 2021年04. That's why I chose goo辞書 on your behalf.

If you still prefer to use the Kotobank website for the citation, which is absolutely fine, you'll need to update the date of the database version, the URL of the website, the title of the website, and the access-date. But the original database publisher, 株式会社小学館 (shogakukan), and the title of the dictionary entry can remain the same.

Also, you went to the liberty of including an archive link. That's amazing. Usually we include the original URL if the website is still live, and note the status of the original website (live/dead), and the archive date. It seems the most recent archive date is today, that's very convenient! I've taken the liberty to do this below, if you wish to use it:
