Speedy deletion of HotelPlanner.com
editA tag has been placed on HotelPlanner.com, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as the Wikipedia:Business' FAQ for more information.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. KV5 • Squawk box • Fight on! 16:23, 14 August 2008 (UTC)

- Pages deleted as promotional
your question
editHi. You asked at Talk:HotelPlanner.com:
- The page for hoteplanner.com should not be deleted for the following reasons:
- - we are trying to explain and clarify our patented technology of hotel bidding
- - we power sites like priceline and expedia... they are on here as well as many other companies, why wouldnt we be as well???
- - we would like to have a resouce for people to read about the bidding process that many of our customers do not understand.
- Please let me know what I can to keep this page on wikipedia. Thank you in advance for you help
In response, see the notices above. Basically you can't do this yourself because of the conflict of interest.
If your company is "notable" as defined by our Notability Guideline for Companies using reliable sources (as laid out by that guideline's very specific definition -- basically independent major news media), then we would like to have a well-sourced, neutral article. Note that such an article will include any critical coverage, too, so think carefully about whether you really want this (for a recent example of a company's whose promotional activities here boomeranged, see Park West Gallery).
I have put a draft of the deleted material at User:Eastvillage/HotelPlanner.com. You can work on it there; when you have something that meets our standards and is ready to "go live", leave a note at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Websites asking for a review. If it meets folks approval, others (not you) can move it back as an actual article. See Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information. --A. B. (talk • contribs) 18:19, 14 August 2008 (UTC)
