Proposed deletion of BrowserStack edit

The article BrowserStack has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

There is just one independent source here, Scott Hanselman's blog. Rest is product documentation, sales, sponsorships that don't confer notability whatsoever. WP:GNG fail.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Editing the article to avoid any advocacy. Think BrowserStack is fairly notable within the developer community, and would ideally edit it to fit into [category]. --Krishsundaram (talk) 11:31, 8 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

October 2015 edit

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for advertising or self-promoting in violation of the conflict of interest and notability guidelines, as you did at BrowserStack. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by first reading the guide to appealing blocks, then adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Guy (Help!) 17:57, 8 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

Please help me with this issue of Conflict of Interest with the BrowserStack page. I received a notification by a user, Brianhe, saying the article was not adequately cited. So I went back and fixed that problem, and removed any content that remotely suggested advocacy. I am not sure why my user account has been blocked. Is it because I speedily addressed the problem that I am being accused of a conflict of interest? Also, I used the Twitter page (a good article) as a guideline for creating the BrowserStack page. Krishsundaram (talk) 08:26, 9 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

When nearly all your edits are either to a single article you created, or directly related to the article and its subject, that would tend to look like a spam account; when this article is subsequently deleted as spam (as this one was, see here), that's clearly enough for a block. עוד מישהו Od Mishehu 11:55, 12 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

I have not edited any other articles on Wikipedia, because I am really not qualified to add, remove or correct information. However, I am in that position with BrowserStack.

  • Hi Krishsundaram, the {{help me}} tag gets help from other editors not admins - to contest your ban you would need to follow the instructions on the block notice just above this section (i.e. using {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}) as only admins can deal with blocking issues.
