Cardamom Krumkake

Does the cardamom make the the cookies a bit browner? That's a very strong spice if I'm not mistaken, I can't even imagine it really, but I think it would be make for a flavorful krumkake cookie. Have you had Rosette (cookie)'s? A friend of mine from the Midwest was quite surprised to find that Rosettes are a popular part of Iranian cuisine here, and that they are sold at Persian food stores. It's intersting that there's an Iranian version of Rosettes. Fried dough - what's not to like? I suppose krum kakes with cardamom must be browner, but then I've never had any without. Most of the Norwegians I've known were in my own extended family and everyone used the same basic recipe (below)--Koppas (talk) 23:09, 12 February 2009 (UTC)

Biolith Draft

Yeah, right now I'm creating a rough draft of the Biolith(Race) page. Good to know another stub is being eliminated. It'll take some time, since I'm fairly new to the markup text, but what better way to learn then to take it hands on? The band Biolith isn't really notable, you're right, so for now maybe a stub should just be created. Then, depending on what happens, it'll stay a stub or it can be expanded into a page. Some things only time can tell. By the way, how do you create |? So far, I've been making it with copy and paste, but some info would help. PatrickStumpBeast (Talk) 14:18, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Biolith (race), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

No notability, could be placed in Eye of Judgement if really wanted, but I believe this was just created so the disambiguation page would make sense.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. • The assumption that I created Biolith (race) to make sense of the disambiguation page is correct. I'm pretty neutral about the deletion, since the disambig could easily just point to Eye of Judgement. My only reasons for wanting to keep the article would be to avoid hijacking or vandalism at the main entry for Biolith. However, I do know that another user, User:PatrickStumpBeast, is planning to expand the article. Since I expect he might object to the proposed deletion, I'll leave a note on his talk page.--Koppas (talk) 16:00, 16 May 2009 (UTC)
• It is true that I am currently constructing a rough draft of the article Biolith (race). If it is believed that the stub should be eliminated, then I am not going to oppose it. If it is deleted, the disambig should be kept with Biolith (race) as a red link. I will continue to work at the draft, and once it is polished off I will introduce it into the main Eye of Judment page. Then the disambig can be edited so that Biolith (race) links to the Biolith section within The Eye of Judgment page. Moorish Science

Hi Koppas

I added the information and links because non of the current links lead to the real Moorish Science Temple of America. I am a member of the one true Moorish Science Temple that was founded by Noble Drew Ali. I am happy and positive about Moorish Science so it may sound like I am advertising but I can’t make any money by promoting a religion. I just want to teach people about our temple. There is over 10 links on that page leading to sites that are not the real temple. At least let one link go to the Real Moorish Science Temple of America so people can learn about what the Noble Drew Ali true descendents are doing. NewlandInformer (talk) 22:37, 11 July 2009 (UTC)

R.A. Wilson

Wordpress sites are blogs, so I consider it an unreliable source. The only thing I saw on his article about YS was an unsourced statement about him getting a late HS diploma from there after dropping out from HS while a teenager. Nyttend (talk) 00:41, 23 July 2009 (UTC)

Yes, I realize that wordpress is a blog host. On the other hand, not all of the other notable residents are particularly well referenced. Actually, Wilson does mention Yellow Springs in at least one novel, so it's an interesting association (I think). WikiMapia references

Hey, I saw you reverted an edit on the Wikimapia article, as you noticed the references are present. The URLs are still valid, but the threads have been yanked. Censorship is afoot a WikiMapia. Thanks for the info. Censorship wasn't an issue at Wikimapia when I was a regular user. It's a shame to see what's going on there now and it's also a shame to see it spill over here. Maybe it's an unfair assumption, but the IP that removed content from the article (and also knew about the yanked threads) was registered to Moscow. I can't help assuming it was done by someone on the Wikimapia administrative team. What a shame!--Koppas (talk) 21:51, 27 July 2009 (UTC)

As a followup, I'm concerned that the links to the references no longer work. Obviously, I'm in favor of citations for the article, and when I reverted the edit last night I assumed they were fine. Who would think to check to see if they were disappeared? On the other hand, if Wikimapia adminstrators are trying to pull shenanigans, I also dislike taking down the material to suit them!--Koppas (talk) 00:39, 28 July 2009 (UTC)

What should we do at this juncture? The article on WikiMapia is quickly becoming more and more inaccurate in light of recent developments. They removed the following healthy chunk from their Terms of Service in the last few days:

"In other words you retain all of your ownership rights in your User Submissions. However, by submitting the User Submissions to WikiMapia, you hereby grant WikiMapia a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicenseable and transferable license to use, reproduce, distribute, prepare derivative works of, display, and perform the User Submissions in connection with the WikiMapia Website and WikiMapia's (and its successor's) business, including without limitation for promoting and redistributing part or all of the WikiMapia Website (and derivative works thereof) in any formats and through any services. You also hereby grant each user of the WikiMapia Website a non-exclusive license to access your User Submissions through the Website, and to use, reproduce, distribute, prepare derivative works of, display and perform such User Submissions as permitted through the functionality of the Website and under these Terms of Service. The foregoing license granted by you terminates once you remove or delete a User Submission from the WikiMapia Website. However your submissions may be found in changes history and other people may consider your information in creating their own submissions."

To be honest, I never really understood their terms of service. Every few months we'd see a user who was completely confused, or just worried that WM was going to sell all of their contributions for profit, which their license does seem to allow.--Koppas (talk) 23:31, 28 July 2009 (UTC)

I'm not sure what (if any) action to take while things are in such turmoil. I'm an old (though inactive) WikiMapia user, so I posted a bit of an explanation on the article's talk page. My user page says as much, but I don't want to get smacked here for COI issues... especially since I didn't know those links had been purged when I reverted that edit! My feelings about that bit of censorship were pretty strong. I spent a lot of time at WikiMapia trying to promote neutrality, and in the process I routinely got accused of censorship by people trying to use the site to promote their politics/religion/what-have-you. It's rich that actual censorship is being done by that site's administrators to promote their own interests. I'm sick to learn of it and glad that I washed my hands of them.--Koppas (talk) 23:31, 28 July 2009 (UTC)

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being minor in the usual way.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. With the script in place, you can continue with this functionality indefinitely (its use is governed by WP:MINOR). If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.
