Genital integrity

edit

I just commented at Talk:Genital integrity with a reminder to all contributors to remember WP:NPA. I understand that genital integrity is a topic that elicits strong opinions, and I understand that it can be difficult to reach consensus with editors whose opinions differ greatly from your own. WP:COOL is a good read for people who encounter this difficulty. I hope this is helpful to you. Joie de Vivre T 05:14, 11 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Kogejoe, I request that you will please try to stay on-topic at Talk:Genital integrity, and remember to keep your comments in the context of how the Genital integrity article can be improved. Again, I understand you feel strongly about this, but Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a discussion forum or a place to espouse personal views. I am certain that you could provide valuable improvements if you were to focus your energy on the article itself. Joie de Vivre° 15:49, 13 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

I trust that you are even-handed in your chastizement, and that you sent this same message to others in the discussion who were using it as a means to voice their biased views as well. *cough*jakew*cough*

I realize that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and not a discussion forum or a place to espouse personal views. Don't patronize me. The discussion is NOT the encyclopedia itself, but, one would hope, as the name implies, a DISCUSSION of the information presented in the articles. One would think it is proper to point out inaccurate information, as well as inappropriate editings being carried out by people with a pro or anti-circumcisionist agenda.

I would hope that it would be appropriate to blow the whistle on any biased editing that could be going on, in light of the fact that it has been discovered that self-interested individuals have been going in and editing articles to their favor. Need I bring to mind the recent scandal that went on as a result of editings being tracked to IP addresses at major companies?

It is self righteous for any one individual to deem something a "biased and untrustworthy source," when the individual would be quoting questionable sources him or herself.

I do hope you are chastizing people on BOTH sides, not just those with whom you disagree because it is convenient for you. Kogejoe (talk) 09:18, 17 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Danjiri two.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 06:16, 23 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

I've responded to your comments. Might I also suggest a slightly softer, more polite tone? There is no reason to be rude, we are all just trying to create an encyclopaedia. Sabine's Sunbird talk 02:12, 2 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Jankenpon

edit

Hi! Thanks for helping on Jan-ken-pon! The article was just merged with the article for Rock-paper-scissors, since they are the same name, it's just the American version of it (wikipedia rules state that since it's English wikipedia, it goes by the English name, even if the Japanese version is older). You had a lot of useful information (which is still there), but wikipedia policy says that facts need to have references (these can be online sources, or physical books - even books in Japanese). If you really want to help, it'd be cool if you could find references for all the facts there that don't have references yet :) .. (I'm not an admin, I just liked your changes and want to make sure no one else deletes them!) Luminifer (talk) 15:22, 23 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Files missing description details

edit
Dear uploader: The media files you uploaded as:

are missing a description and/or other details on their image description pages. If possible, please add this information. This will help other editors make better use of the images, and they will be more informative to readers.

If the information is not provided, the images may eventually be proposed for deletion, a situation which is not desirable, and which can easily be avoided.

If you have any questions, please see Help:Image page. Thank you. Theo's Little Bot (error?) 01:06, 13 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
