December 2014 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Terry Haskins has been reverted.
Your edit here to Terry Haskins was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zjTSgQxr2tQ&feature=youtu.be) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. a sound or video file) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy, as well as other parts of our external links guideline. If the information you linked to is indeed in violation of copyright, then such information should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file, or consider linking to the original.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 02:38, 9 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

August 2015 edit

Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Walkman. It is considered spamming, and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion, so any further spamming will be regarded as vandalism. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Promotion of website ericwrobbel.com, spamming links to multiple articles. Binksternet (talk) 06:13, 8 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your vigilance in fighting spam on Wikipedia. I completely share your disgust for the practice and for those who engage in it. I believe you are misunderstanding why I posted the links I posted and are letting that misperception color your judgment of their appropriateness. If you will look at the links you will see that they are not only appropriate but also add significant value to the subjects and are thus a worthy contribution to Wikipedia--and completely and properly within Wikipedia's external links policy. I am not advertising or promoting anything, just pointing readers to another valuable resource in keeping with the spirit and mission of Wikipedia. I hear what you are saying about the nofollow tags--I have no interest in that and I don't understand why you mention it other than it helps me to see where you are coming from. And I guess I can see WHY you are coming from that place; you have no doubt fended off dozens of spammers, and, again, that is an effort I appreciate. I, however, am not one of them. Kindly revert the edits so that the links are again available to readers. Knowledgelibrary (talk) 19:19, 8 August 2015 (UTC)Reply
