Hello Knmedia. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, such as the edit you made to Draft:Dr Yvonne Jones, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially egregious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat SEO.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists, and if it does not, from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Knmedia. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Knmedia|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Dreamy Jazz 🎷 talk to me | my contributions 17:12, 30 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group or a web site, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing. Additionally, If you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for your contributions to Wikipedia, you must disclose who is paying you to edit.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In that reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block. To do so, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason for thinking that the block was an error, and publish the page. 331dot (talk) 18:01, 30 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

{{unblock-spamun|Karl Jones|I was trying to help my mother with her legitimate wikipedia listing. She is a credible artist. All links in the article are unrelated to anything other than legitimate organisations that have exhibited her work.}}

@Knmedia: That account username is taken (see Special:CentralAuth/Karl Jones). You will have to choose a different username in this unblock request. Dreamy Jazz 🎷 talk to me | my contributions 18:46, 30 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

{{unblock|Can i change it to KLJones77}}

That username is not registered (per Special:CentralAuth/KLJones77) so you can use it. Dreamy Jazz 🎷 talk to me | my contributions 11:20, 31 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

As previously advised, your edits give the impression you have a financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. You were asked to cease editing until you responded by either stating that you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits, or by complying with the mandatory requirements under the Wikimedia Terms of Use that you disclose your employer, client and affiliation. Again, you can post such a disclosure on your user page at User:Knmedia, and the template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Knmedia|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. Please respond before making any other edits to Wikipedia. Although you are blocked, you have not responded to the message I have left above here on your talk page which you can edit. Please respond to this here (on your talk page) before you make any further edits. Dreamy Jazz 🎷 talk to me | my contributions 11:12, 31 May 2019 (UTC) Reply

This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without a good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

Decline reason:

Procedural decline only. This unblock request has been open for more than two weeks but has not proven sufficiently convincing for any reviewing administrator to take action. You are welcome to request a new block review if you substantially reword your request. Yamla (talk) 16:24, 14 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
