Hello there. You seem to have mistakenly edited a stub template in an attempt to create an article. If you want to learn how to create an article, please read Wikipedia:Your first article. Thanks. --McGeddon (talk) 16:20, 16 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Please stop editing stub templates (the articles that begin with "Template:"). Stub templates are paragraphs of italics that get appended onto the bottom of all relevant stub articles - you should not add further content to them, as this would appear on all the articles that used the template. Thanks. --McGeddon (talk) 19:53, 16 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

  Please do not add copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder, as you did to Iev media. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. --McGeddon (talk) 19:57, 16 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Please stop cutting and pasting copyrighted text from the IEV site into the IEV article. If you represent IEV then this is a conflict of interest, if you don't represent IEV then this is a copyright violation. And either way it's inappropriate tone for an encyclopaedia. --McGeddon (talk) 20:02, 16 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Conflict of interest explanation

edit

  If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Iev media, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors;
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam);
    and you must always:
  4. avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines, especially neutral point of view, verifiability, and autobiography.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see Wikipedia:Business' FAQ. For more details about what constitutes a conflict of interest, please see Wikipedia:Conflict of Interest. Thank you. --McGeddon (talk) 19:57, 16 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

IEV Media

edit

Hello. The reason your content is being erased is that it's a copyright violation of the pages that you're cutting and pasting it from - if you read Wikipedia's copyright policy, you'll see how important it is that we use original text rather than just pasting it in from other (copyrighted) websites.

If you want to create an article about IEV Media, that's fine, but you should write about the company in a neutral, informative, encyclopaedic tone rather than copying paragraphs of text directly from its website. An encyclopaedia shouldn't be talking about "the solution that is right for you", it should be telling us the factual history of the company.

Let me know if you have any further questions. --McGeddon (talk) 20:10, 16 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Advertising houston

edit

A tag has been placed on Advertising houston, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read our the guidelines on spam as well as the Wikipedia:Business' FAQ for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. M173627 (talk) 20:34, 16 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Dalton Mullins

edit

A tag has been placed on Dalton Mullins requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics.

You have to read WP:MUSIC - we need external links other than your own and a myspace link to establish notability. You saying it doesn't make it so. --Golbez (talk) 16:15, 19 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of IEV Media

edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article IEV Media, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? McGeddon (talk) 16:27, 22 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
