There are so many policies, guidelines, style guides, and essays, that learning the ropes here can seem daunting at times. But, we've all been there. It really boils down to a few main things, chief of which is probably that we don't write our own opinions and knowledge (regardless what kind of expert we might be in some topic); instead, we find reliable sources (books, journals, encyclopedias, etc.) about a topic, and then we summarize what they say, and add it to an article along with a citation identifying the source we used. If you've got that down, you're really more than halfway there! Feel free to ask questions of myself (using {{ping|Mathglot}}) or any experienced volunteer editor (via {{Help me}}) and someone will be glad to assist. Happy editing!
