Album articles edit

Read WP:Notability (music), especially the section WP:NALBUMS. It is very unlikely that an unreleased debut album will qualify for an article. Even when released, you will need references to "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject" to establish notability.

You should understand that Wikipedia is not for advertising or promotion of any kind, and is very resistant to being used in that way. It is absolutely not here to help launch this album, and it is not a place for the band to tell the world about it. The sort of long spiels from the songwriter you put in your early versions are fine for the band's own website but quite inappropriate for an encyclopedia article - anything like that would either be cut by other editors or, more likely, lead to speedy deletion as an advertisement.

There is good general advice at WP:Your first article. JohnCD (talk) 19:39, 5 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Disambiguation link notification for August 15 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Distortion Mirrors, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page My Bloody Valentine (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Your edit edit

This edit you made to Sylvia Browne is likely accurate, but it still requires a source. Neither ref mentions family. Moriori (talk) 00:03, 23 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Restaurant Stakeout edit

Resources are not reliable by default, and I did ask you to go to RSN but you didn't. I've raised these sources myself at WP:RSN - you might want to respond there. It also seems to me to be a WP:BLP issue. Dougweller (talk) 16:57, 24 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

January 2014 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed maintenance templates from Sound and Vision. When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Recent edits to Breakcore edit

Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that you recently added commentary to the Breakcore article. While Wikipedia welcomes editors' opinions on an article and how it could be changed, these comments are more appropriate for the article's accompanying talk page. If you post your comments there, other editors working on the same article will notice and respond to them, and your comments will not disrupt the flow of the article. Thank you! February 2014 edit

Thank you for your contributions. Please mark your edits, such as your recent edits to Breakcore, as "minor" only if they are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Thank you. czar  14:05, 19 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Weezer edit

Thanks for the barnstar! By the way, I notice you've been editing Weezer articles. Have you seen the Songs from the Black Hole article? I recently rewrote the entire page from scratch, so if you have any feedback or improvements, I'd appreciate them. Popcornduff (talk) 12:44, 14 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

You're generous with your barnstars. ;) Sadly, I don't think we can use the SFTBH cover art you found, as it's fan-made, inspired by the art seen on a cassette in the Alone liner notes. I think that might count as original research, or something, but I'll look into it. Popcornduff (talk) 14:10, 15 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

I understand Popcorn. No problem! Keep up the great work!

I've asked about it on Wikipedia:Help_desk if you're curious. Popcornduff (talk) 14:32, 15 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Sweet! If they approve at least we get some visual for the cover :) I sincerely hope the record will get re-recorded one day. I met Rivers once and wish i had asked him :(

September 2014 edit

Hello, I'm Lucas Thoms. I noticed that you recently removed all content from Lists of former Christians, with this edit without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, I restored the page's content. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. —LucasThoms 23:41, 1 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Your recent edits edit

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button (  or  ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 21:40, 7 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Thomas Kinkade edit

Hi. Sorry for the slow response, but you left your message to me on my "user page", not my "talk page", so I only spotted it by chance.

I'm sorry that we interpret things differently in the case of Thomas Kinkade. However, as an encyclopedia our first concern is with documented matters of fact, and it's inappropriate to delete something from an entry about a person just because it makes them look less than perfect. I hope you'll understand my position. Thank you.

RomanSpa (talk) 14:07, 31 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

P.S. Generally, it's a good idea not to edit someone else's "user page" unless you've been specifically invited to. Communication is better kept to a "talk page". :-)

Thank You! edit

Hi. This is just to say thank you for the Barnstar of Diplomacy. I'm tremendously pleased and flattered!

I'm glad that we're able to get on with each other, even if we sometimes disagree about some things. We're all here to do our best for the project. Wikipedia is the biggest encyclopedia that has ever been created by humanity, and every day it gets better. I hope we can both carry on making useful contributions.

Again, thank you. RomanSpa (talk) 06:37, 4 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

You're quite welcome RomanSpa! Thank you again.

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Distortionmirrorswikipedia.jpg edit

A tag has been placed on File:Distortionmirrorswikipedia.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
