Poking Kingpinbot

Hello Kingpin13; I have a couple curiosity questions about KinpinBot, does it run at pre-determined time(s) during the day or is it manually started ? I have added {{User:KingpinBot/archivenow}} to some older request and no action are taken. Is there anything a user monitoring WP:PERM can do to initiate archiving ? Hmm, well actually User:KingpinBot/archivenow will just mean that when the bot does look at the request, instead of checking the current time against the last timestamp, and seeing if the difference is more than 36 hours (set at User:KingpinBot/settings.css), the bot will just pretend that it's time to archive the request. The bot doesn't really run regularly any more either. It just runs when I tell it to, which means that the best way to get it running is to message me on my talk page. The reason I run it so sporadically these days, is because it runs from my netbook, which I don't always have turned on. Someday soon I should rewrite it so it will also work from my desktop (I was stupid when I wrote it and made it difficult to run on other systems, and it could use a rewrite anyhow), which would mean I could set up a system where SDPatrolBot (which does run fairly consistently) can launch it in response to user requesting that it is run. - Kingpin13 (talk) 07:22, 13 September 2011 (UTC)
That would be very nice. I find myself checking requests a few times everyday and it would be helpful to be able to tag request that are stale or have been decided after a few days. (I've just changed my signature template, disregard the the new message  )
