Hey, he plays for the Puerto Rican national team, born there so he is not an american citizen. Kante4 (talk) 01:59, 13 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Yes, he was born in Puerto Rico. It should be noted though, that Puerto Rico is part of the United States. A person born in Puerto Rico, is as much a US Citizen as a person that is born in New York, NY. Yes, Puerto Rico has their own basketball team, but they are not a separate country, so one cannot be a citizen of Puerto Rico, only an American. There are some in Puerto Rico who would vote to be a separate country, but this is still not the case. Until then, a person born in Puerto Rico is a US citizen.

Barea edit

I have made a suggestion to the Barea nationality issue in the "Talk" page and since you are involved in the discussion, I would like your input. Tony the Marine (talk) 18:03, 25 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
